The food here is really good. Homemade soups and sandwiches and baking etc. nice portions as well. Casual dining and quite unique. There is also art there to buy from a local artist from east kootenays. You are given a spoon for your table and they will take it once you get your order so fun and unique!!! We will come back.

Great food, very well presented and generous portions.
Interesting selection of coffees as well as baked goods.
Staff were helpfully and atentative
Will definitely return to enjoy more of their dishes and recommend others to sample this gem

The Wooden Spoon Bistro is one of the few cafes that open at 8:00a. Had the The Sandy breakfast sandwich and it was more than I could eat. Next time I would get the Sandy Mini which is half a sandwich. The bread was soft and fresh and the layers delicious. Definitely a good breakfast spot.

There was a nice patio where we expected a great lunch. The restaurant has a wooden spoon theme which was catchy and interesting.
However, the food did not in any way meet our expectations. We ordered pulled pork paninis, and the pork was very dry with no sauce and was paired with ham, provolone cheese and dijon mustard which overpowered the sandwich altogether. Not good at all! I ate a bit of the sandwich and left the rest.
My husband asked for a hamburger instead, thinking that was a safe choice. However it had an odd red color and a bad flavor! After a few bites, it was thrown away. The latte coffee was in a small cup but quite tasty. We certainly don't recommend the food we had. The restaurant closes at 3pm.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We’re sorry it wasn’t a fantastic meal like most customers have.
Did you happen to mention to any of the wait staff about your concerns with the food? We could’ve happily helped to fix the situation at the time.
The Dijon on the sandwich is a French, so it tends to be on the hotter side, and their is banana peppers on it as well, which would’ve added to the heat.
We would’ve gladly made you a new one if requested.
As for the hamburger- our patties are made in house with local beef, and the red you are referring to could’ve just been our blend of spices (paprika and chilli powder) would’ve maybe made it a hint darker. If asked we would happily told you what was In the burger. The honky tonk is one of our most popular items, so we apologize the flavours didn’t quite for you.
We’re glad you enjoyed your coffee, and we offer 3 different sizes, so your cup size would’ve reflected the size you ordered at the till.
Next time you’re passing through, we’d love to make it up to you and have you enjoy a meal on us because we do actually have some really great dining options :)

We ended up staying in Grand Forks for the night, since Osoyoos had no vacancy. When a friend saw where we were at for the night she said “go to the Wooden Spoon” - so we skipped the hotel breakfast and headed over!
Since moving from Van Isle, to Saskatchewan, almost two decades ago, I am ALWAYS on a mission to find all things salmon when I’m in BC.
So breakfast was of course the Benedict Royale (salmon) along with its tasty seasoned hashbrowns and my husband opted for the chicken & waffle which he thought would be unique (he really enjoyed it). I also had a London Fog tea latte and he tried the honey nut latte which was super tasty!
I’m a details person - the decor and ambiance in this place also made for the experience! From the wooden spoon table number, to the wall display, ceiling tiles, counter... and then the cassette tape wall by the bathrooms! So fun!
We don’t take this route often but I hope to be back & will definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

Wonderfully prepared meals of all sorts. Basically, a sandwich diner on steroids. Lots of lunch selections, drinks and great, open atmosphere. Seating available outside, as well.
I can't forget to mention their lattes as they were perfectly prepared (and I like my latte served hot).
Gluten-free options, too!
Only down side is that they close at 3pm. But to swing my vote even higher, they are associated with The Bar & Kitchen, which opened at 5pm. Good job!

A wonderful spot with a great menu, friendly staff and cool decor. The food was amazing, I shared 2 dishes with a friend, each unique and flavourful. I loved the atmosphere. I will go back every chance I get.

Having grown up in Vancouver we are used to great food and good variety and the wooden spoon did not disappoint! Excellent salads, soups and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well.
Food was served quickly and tasted scrumptious😋
We will definitely be back!

Stopped here on a recommendation from a local and where very happy we did. We had the regular bacon and eggs with hashbrowns and it was very tasty. Potatoes were home made and very flavorful. Didn't need ketchup. Nice decor. Will definitely stop here again on my next trip through. Amazing value for $12.

Stopped while travelling through Grand Forks. We pulled in a block off the highway and found it by accident right on the corner. Walk up counter, order your food and pay the bill. It will be brought to your table. It was excellent food. I found the sourdough toast a little tough but still good.

Had no idea what to expect and was blown away! The food, coffee, atmosphere, and staff were all amazing! It was packed when we went and the one server (out of only 2!) Was literally running around doing it all and was so hard working and kind. I would bring everyone we know back here in the future

My wife and I from Manitoba were on a recent motorcycle trip to BC in July 2020 and spent the night in Grand Forks. In the morning we walked to the Wooden Spoon and wow were we treated to a great breakfast.We had our breakfast outside which was really nice but the food we received was absolutely amazing.Well done and tasty pretty well to perfection.We will be back to the Wooden Spoon in the future for sure. Try this place you will not be disappointed

Great! Family placed a takeout order online for a bunch of The Sandy, a breakfast sandwich. It was ready promptly. So big it was our brunch. Great size, taste and ingredients. Not a speck left by anyone. The rest of their menu is intriguing.

Eat here on our way thru Grand Forks every year. As usual friendly staff and good food. I say the same thing every year, congratulations to staff and owners, it’s not easy to maintain consistent high quality.

I had a great experience here with the coffee and lunch. The food was delicious, the fried chicken sandwich was so good. The staff were all so friendly too.
