We've visited many times as locals for ice cream and milk shakes and those are always amazing.
We decided to order lunch this time.. was very disappointed.
If I had not looked inside the fish burger and located a thin soggy slice of fish, I would have no idea that it was supposed to be a fish burger.
Even the small bun was soaking wet.
We will be back, but will just stick to ice cream next time.

When I lived in GF during the 70's and early 80's this was THE place to hang on an early Friday or Saturday night before the party. Food was amazing, shakes were amazing. Sheila's sauce was outstanding. Only giving it 3 stars now instead of 5 because things had gone downhill when I went back in recent years.
Sad to see another relic of my youth gone away. Had wanted to buy the place at one point but couldn't put a deal together. Now it'll get plowed under and eventually no one will remember it. Thank goodness for memories.

Food was so tasty, it was a treat!
I definitely recommend trying their milk-based boba teas, they were so good. Their workers seem happy, kind, and enthusiastic to work there.
I LOVE TASTY TREAT!!!
Best pizza in town; it was DA BOMB!!!!!!

We stopped in to tastee treat about 1 week ago. We both ordered the super double cheeseburger! The wait was to long! Because they weren't that busy. We were disappointed because the burgers weren't homemade and the patties were very thin!.On top of that they soaked it in BBQ sauce! And that's all we could taste! As soon as l bit into mine everything when sideways and it was a mess!On top of that they give you one little napkin! The fries were average. I ordered gravy it had a scum on top like it had been sitting for awhile! There prices were good! But if the food sucks why waste your money! It's to bad. Its a blast from the past but l won't be recommending the place to anyone l know! Its a hangout for the old car clubs l understand!

Manager or owner being rude before we even had a chance to order. Tiny portions, and out of stock items just not added to the order, I would have ordered something else if I knew , half of my order was not going to arrive. Absolutely never going to eat here again.

Spicy burger too tall for bun. Spilling out everywhere. Hoping for better. Mens washroom closed, no paper towel to dry hands in women's washroom. Pricey, slow. Hopefully it gets better but not a contender at this point

New ownership prompted a visit for an ice cream sampling. They used to have the best ice cream in the area. Not anymore! It was horrible. Granular soupy watery yuck! Paid 9.50 for 2 tiny cones, definitely a price ripoff in my opinion. Certainly wouldn’t return for another disappointing experience.

Great place for real milkshakes and food. To all the people who gave this business a bad rap - a pox on you. It was a great place for burgers and drinks - far better than the fast food competitors just down the street. Unfortunately the owners have sold the business and retired and the building is owned by an investment firm probably to be vacant for years and an eyesore. To the former owners a special thank you for all the forty plus years you served up good eats and drinks - and to your previous relatives who started the business in 1959, you had heart. It closed a year or two ago now - really unfortunate for travellers like myself and my wife. Stopped in May of 2022 to find that it was closed for good, it will be missed.

Located next door to Western Traveler motel is this step back in time place. We split tater tots and their famous onion chips instead of onion rings. Hot and tasty. The chocolate chip mint hard ice cream was flavorful and yummy. It’s celebrating its 60th anniversary the end of June and sadly is for sale.

If you want a REAL ice cream cone or shake, this is the place. Diner style burgers and fries, ice cream, real milkshakes- you get the idea. A great roadside stop, it's easy to drop in, grab some yummy food and carry on your way!

Yes, we stopped for a coffee break, during our driving tour to the West Kootenay, BC and found this Mom and Pop eatery in Grand Forks.
It is owned and run by a grand Lady, helped by her children and grand children.
The Ice Cream was great plus the burger with the special home made sauce.
A must stop place for ice cream, burger and a old old fashion milk shake.

I'd go here again and again just to work my way through the huge list of flavours of milkshakes they serve. I can't believe anybody actually still makes them from proper ice cream! Burgers excellent too.

This is a must when driving through Grand Forks. The Tastie Treat has been open since 1959 so do not expect brand new booths or TV's in the dinning area. It is a small family run drive-in that will give you good food for reasonable price. Their menu has all the items listed after tax so you know exactly what you are going to pay. Most famous for their burgers that come with Sheila Sauce. this is a sweet BBQ type sauce that has won the Tastie Treat best burgers in BC multiple times through out it's years. Save room for dessert as they serve real ice cream not ice milk, yogurt or the frozen coffeemate that most serve nowadays/
