Unexpected great Italian / French food in small town of Port McNeill , it is a family style business , clean and friendly atmosphere , it is been a long day for me , so I need a place to rewind and good food ,...staff from the resort told me this bistro , they are 100% spot on , it is a French / Italian cruise , menu have lot to choose from , not pricy , I order the Calabrease Pastas , absolutely amazing , the sauce not your average supermarket tomato sauce , well balance with the ingredients and spices , very high caliber cooking , so if you in town , must drop by and try their pasta ! amazing delicious !More

The restaurant opened specifically for our tour group and provided an excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast. Hard to complain about the variety and nobody left hungry. Service was friendly-it felt like they really wanted us there. I shall return if we ever get back...to this neck of the woods.More

Perhaps COVID can be blamed. ANd a boil water advisory imposed on the establishement (the whole town) didn't help. Plus a single waitress running her ass off to attend to what was a smaller (COVID) but full house doesn't make for a good lunch. Felt...sorry for her. Combined with mediocre food, the $50.00 plus dollars was wasted.More

Arrived in McNeill on a Monday, this establishment wasn't open until Wednesday. Had a couple of good meals elsewhere(limited choice). Went to this restaurant on Wednesday about 6pm. 5 tables in use, was seated at the final one available. One waitress, took 20 minutes to...get order taken, beer took another 20, because she wasn't old enough to serve, and everyone else who could was busy. I was seated for 40 minutes before meal arrived, cold, and very tasteless(burger). Asked for another beer that never did come. When I paid for a half eaten meal, the waitress explained that there was no one else to get my second beer, that they were busy with "skip" orders. Should have gone back to Gus's where they had service and hot food.More

Good portions and food was freshly prepared so there is considerable wait time. Service was kind. The milk shakes were a bit pricey at $7 though. Tables were distanced, hand sanitizer was by the entrance, there were separate entry/exits to the building, but I don't...recall the staff wearing masks. The family-friendly restaurant has plenty of parking and is attached to the Dalewood Inn at the top of a hill so it has a nice view of the waterfront. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner BUT closed between 3-5 pm daily. We were seated in the bistro, which is diner-like in feel and only discovered a lovely, fancier dining room next door when we passed by it to exit the building. Wish we were seated there but didn't know about it. The restaurant looks like a diner from the outside because you only see the big windows of the bistro and not the dining room beside it, which also shares the great view of the waterfront.More

My husband and I have eaten at restaurants all over the world and we are especially fussy seafood eaters. But, since we were in the beautiful seaside village of Port McNeil on business, we decided to give Archipelagos Bistro and try and ordered their mussels...for our appetizer. WOW!! They were steamed in a tomato and red wine broth. Plump and deliciously rich. There are not enough stars for this dish! $10 for a whole pound - such a great value. With their homemade bread, that was honestly a meal in itself and we probably should have stopped there but we didn't... We followed with pasta: bacon mac and cheese for him; creamy Coquille St. Jacques sauce on my linguine. Huge portions. Perfection. Their pasta dishes come with a side salad and even that was notably fresh and colourful with little extras like some seeds, sprouts and dried cranberries. Our server was bubbly and attentive. Covid protocols were followed. We were sad to be the only table in the main dining room, however, it was a Monday night so probably understandable. The next time we're in Port McNeill we are definitely looking forward to revisiting Archipelagos Bistro!More

On a recent trip to Port McNeil and on a recommendation from the RV Park at Alder Bay, we had breakfast at Archipelagos Bistro. My husband had the 2 eggs & sausage and I had a veggie omelet. Both were very good with generous portions....Once we were seated, service was prompt & friendly All Covid -19 protocols were strictly followed.More

Great dinner! Started with one of the freshest side salads I’ve ever had (lemon honey dressing). Cheese bacon burger was great and the Cajun Chicken MAC & Cheese was out of this world-perfectly seasoned. Great service and all social distancing rules observed.

AVOID THIS PLACE. We ordered two pizzas. We were told it would take 1/2 for our take out order, not ideal with hungry kids but we were ok to wait. After 20 mins of waiting we were told they didn't have the ingredients to make...the pizza we ordered. Then their only compromise was to "do their best" with what they have. So 45 mins later..... half the ingredients were missing on the pizza and what was there was a disappointment. And no discount was offered for not properly completing our order. And the prices were way too much for the sub par food they offer. Never. Returning!More

I have had many good meals here but the Steak and potato poutine knocked my socks off, definitely worth a try, it's dish large enough for two, and share an appetizer. the kettle chips are also delicious.
