Good food and friendly staff. A great location in downtown Smithers! We would definitely come back for a lunch on their airy and spacious patio

Came in on Saturday rib night. A ceasar salid and brownie for the same price of just the regular ribs. Great service. Ribs ok but love the spaetzle. Good experience.
Came in on schnitzel Friday night. Schnitzel plus a ceasar salad and a strudel for the schnitzel only menu price. Chicken very good as was the spaetzle. Very good service and food.
We were part of a party of 7. The others appeared to be fine with their burgers and fries type choices. I had a lamb shank, which was tasty, but contained a 1.5 inch long white plastic splinter. Mild mouth stab, not too bad. My...spouse was not really eating her scnitzel. I volunteered to help and carved off a large chunk. Took one bite and said "That's awful!" "I know." she said. Research showed it was the sauce. Bitter and unpleasant. And also all over the scnitzel. The nice waitress asked if she could pack the remains for later. "No." I said. "It is awful." "Awful?!" "Yes, the full awful." Polite apology, but the full amount for the awful scnitzel was on the bill, so we paid up and left. Obviously would not go back.More
Had dinner there twice. Friendly staff, good service. Food was great. Like the schnitzel better than the steak. We were told that the owners are Austrian so that explains the good schnitzels.
We were disappointed in the Alpenhorn. To be clear, the service was very good - thank you Heather. It was the food. My wife ordered the Classic Schnitzel and I the Cordon Bleu. The food arrive promptly. I cut into my meal and placed a...piece of raw chicken in my mouth. That's right raw as in uncooked. I immediately called Heather and showed her the uncooked meat. She apologized and asked what she could do to make it right. I ordered the Classic Schnitzel and called it a night. The manager did comp my meal and beer. The kitchen might want to a good look at its quality control. Nothing worse than raw chicken!!More
Food was greasy, the hamburger we had was full of fillers, and greasy. The salad I had with in house dressing was good. The service was so so, the waitress acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there working. The price of the food...and what you get is ridiculous. Very disappointed in the meal here. Nice place. I guess it is trendy, and people do buy into that, good or bad. I would not return. As we left and got down the street a ways, we seen a nice pub with people sitting outside, enjoying themselves and food. Terribly overpriced. Also asked for extra dressing, and they charged me for it!!!!!!!! Really??????More
We ate here twice during our stay in Smithers. The restaurant is quite popular with locals and tourists and the atmosphere is friendly. The food was good and they always seem to have a beer or other drink in offer so it’s a good way...of trying a local breweries offerings. Would recommend this bar/restaurant if you are nearby.More
Visited on their two for one appies night. Our group of 3 shared 6 appies. I would highly recommend the tuna, the wings, and the calamari. Potato skins are also good. Only small disappointment was the beer selection. In a town and province with so...many fantastic craft beers the selection at the Alpenhorn was decidedly generic.More
Came in on Wednesday wing night. Seated immediately. I ordered a dozen wings and an entree. The wings were to be broken into 2 separate batches with different sauces but came together with 1 sauce. Oh well. The wings came followed by the entree a...minute later. Seems some better attention to detail is required in the kitchen end. Good food and great service. Just missing on the fine points.More
