Vertical Cafe is an absolute stand out at Sun Peaks Resort! The friendly staff serve delicious home made food, full of flavor and made from scratch. The coffee is particularly good (and that says a lot coming from an Aussie who likes her flat whites). Devon delivered me the BEST coffee the other day, complete with double love latte art. Thanks Vertical - we will be back on a regular basis!

Not going to beat around the bush. If you want the best coffee in Sun Peaks then head straight to Vertical Cafe. We did try some others, but their coffee and service could not compete with Vertical and it became our go-to cafe.
The food was also very nice, we can recommend the cinnamon buns and wraps. There were gluten free and vegan options available too, and a changing soup menu with interesting flavor options.
The staff and management are friendly and have the skill of making you feel like you are a valued customer, not just another transaction on the register. Well done to the team at Vertical Cafe, an easy 5/5.

Stayed at Sun Peaks for just on ten days. Finding Vertical on day two was the best. Rob and his crew have a warm super friendly attitude towards every one who walks into the sunny and bright cafe on the corner of Sundance Lodge. Immediately you feel relaxed and welcomed. The menu is broad with healthy options for both vegan and regular fare eaters available. The options are incredibly healthy and fresh fare. Pretty much every item is freshly prepared onsite right down to the peanut sauces. Any fresh foods and ingredients are all sourced locally wherever possible. No trouble finding out what is in any one item as they make it themselves. My favorite go to was the granola bar for my pocket when skiing, epic wrap and fresh made soups for lunch and then the coffee. Pretty fussy coffee drinker but happy to report my latte was beautifully textured with love every cup. Thanks guys! You made my holiday. Robyn from Brisbane, Australia.

We discovered Vertical Cafe two days into our stay in Sun Peaks and we’ve visited everyday for the rest of our holiday. Robert and Tania are great people making everyone feel welcome. The bagels, wraps, soups, coffee, smoothies and cakes are fantastic with ingredients bought locally 😊. My husband is a Celiac and there is lots of Gluten Free options available. Great vibe with great music playing. Thank you for great food. Jamie, Ann, Charlotte & Alfie 😊

Great coffee, excellent smoothies but do NOT leave without a cinnamon bun. The prices all have that “resort” premium so it’ll be a bit expensive, but if you are there anyway.....buy the cinnamon bun.....trust me....it’s worth it.

My family and I have seasons passes and are new in 2020 to Kamloops and to Sun Peaks as our “go to” ski spot! Since relocating we have been looking for good Vegan food spots, the Vertical Cafe has been our one spot to grab a ton of Vegan and gluten free foods. The family run business is amazing, you can tasted their passion in the food and in talking with the owner you can see why they are so involved. The service and hospitality has been amazing every time we visit for lunch with a huge selection of main dishes, treats and quick snacks. Our children who are not Vegan love the options for a delicious lunch stop! I highly recommend a visit and suggest to try; “the pulse” as an amazing falafel wrap!

Thanks Andrew! We look forward to seeing you and the family on weekends. Our Pulse Wrap has been our best seller this winter season. The in house scratch madefalafel with the Smoked Curry Hummus from “Local Pulse” in Kamloops makes this wrap stand out.
Next time up we will get the kids to try our “Mountain Po Boy” (pulled pork).

It's a great little cafe and seating is limited to outside these days. It wasn't a problem for us as we always did takeaways.
The selection of BF eats is quite good but our favourite is the "Classic Bagel" that comes with bacon, egg, cheese with mayo. The steamed milk, hot choco and coffees are excellent as usual.
They close quite "early" but we had a couple of after-ski hot drinks and cookies which is a great way to end a "hard" day on the hills.

Glad you enjoyed our fresh classic bagel. We pride ourselves or scratch cooking and focus on local sourcing.
We have had to suspend our indoor seating with Covid to ensure our guests and team are safe.
We have installed infrared outdoor heating. We are the only cafe with a covered heated patio area.
We are open from 7am-430pm 7 days a week. We did close at 2pm on Christmas Day to allow our team time to enjoy some time with family.
Hope we see you on your next visit. Thanks for visiting.

Golden rays of sunlight filter through a wooden bay window, spilling onto the warm wood of a standing counter and table. We note Nature’s beauty further enhanced by stunning, original paintings being displayed gallery-style - and even for sale, no less! Consider this a safe haven and leave your gluten and vegan worries behind. This little gem of a cafe offers such dietary alternatives along with classic cafe choices. Sandwiches, wraps and bowls are welcome fruits of culinary creativity. While delighting in delectables you’ll discover pillows of cinnamon rolls and banana bread made from a closely guarded family recipe. Gourmet hot drinks abound. Not to be left outdone, the cafe/bakery is socially conscious and provides a neatly detailed chalkboard listing partners in local sourcing of foods. This family owned business clearly prioritizes quality. No surprise that they plan to expand out towards the quaint and alpine pedestrian zone so more patrons can be accommodated!

We pre-ordered lunch for the ladies of a bridal party. Staff called to ensure no allergies to options chosen, as well as in regards to cross-contamination when I wished peppers deleted from my specific wrap. We were in time constraints, and they didn't disappoint...all were ready promptly. Thanks for making it so easy for us to have a bite to eat while getting ready for the ceremony.

Vertical Café is always a fantastic place to visit!
We’ve been coming to Sun Peaks for five years now, spending up to a month/winter up on the hill. We never miss the opportunity to get the best coffee in town (Cherry Hill from Kelowna), awesome options for breakfast for the entire family (veggie lovers or not😊) or the heartiest soup for lunch.
The place is cozy inside, but you’ll enjoy it also by staying outside, at one of the colourful tables, sheltered from snow and under a patio heater. The shop decoration is always joyful and welcoming, creating good energy. The music is a bonus, I always start dancing in my ski boots while waiting for a coffee!
Rob & Tania, the owners of the place, and their crew are such friendly people, so the vibe is great.
Last but not least, in case you celebrate a birthday in Sun Peaks, take a chance and ask them to help you with a fantastic cinnamon buns birthday cake! It’s not officially on the menu, but my daughter was lucky enough to get one for her 7th birthday that we spent on the slopes. It was one of the most memorable birthday cakes of the past years, and we all enjoyed it!

The food and drinks are to die for. They are hand made to order and are extremely fresh. The staff will greet you with a smile on their faces the second you walk in. If you are looking for somewhere to get a bite before starting your day out on the ski hill (or just need breakfast), I highly recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed!

My friend and I came up after a morning of climbing for some caffiene fueled study time. Food was amazing, staff was extremely friendly and attentive and we got a good study session on an outdoor patio with great views. Also got to sample their new matcha power balls and would 10/10 recommend.

This is such a fantastic cafe. We visited every day during our stay at Sun Peaks! Best latte I have had in Canada and the cinnamon buns are superb. Over the week we tried various items from the menu and everything was so tasty and freshly made. All staff are excellent and the owners were very friendly and made customers feel extremely welcome and valued. Loved sitting just outside the cafe under the warmth of the patio heaters, a great addition to this fabulous establishment!
