We went here on the recommendation of our B&B host, and we are glad we did. Even though this was on a weekday in late September, we still had to wait close to 30 minutes to get an outside table. This was our first restaurant stop in a 10-day tour through the maritimes, and what we did not realize at the time was these would be the best lobster rolls we would encounter. Why? The rolls were different. So was the sauce/remoulade they put on them. I can't define it better than that, but if you have the chance to eat here, i recommend you visit and decide for yourself. Outside atmosphere was nice with with fishing boats docked (or should I say grounded at low tide) right outside. Service was friendly, timely and capable. If we had one place from our trip to have another lobster roll, this would be it.

My wife and I have been going to Tipsy Tails for three straight years. We love the food. I would classify as high-end pub food. Patio is situated next to the wharf so there is always something to see while your dining. However, this latest visit left us a bit cheated. We both had the seafood chowder. We had it before and we’re always pleased. While the taste was A+, the lack of seafood in the chowder makes this dish a bit too expensive at $15. The chowder had lots of potatoes, carrots and celery. Came with three clams and had small crumbs of lobster. I could not detect any scallops nor haddock. The biscuit was great as always.

Went for dinner on a Tuesday night and had to wait 5-10 mins for a seat on the patio. Dill pickle Cesars were delicious with a deep fried dill pickle as garnish. I had the deep fried cob of corn to start and it was easily the best cob of corn I have ever had and I grow 2 acres of sweet corn every year. It was my first lobster roll ever and I found it quite good, and my Atlantic Canadian friends said it was the best around. Had it with the salad which was a great choice. Our waitress seemed cranky but owned up to it and apologized as she was short on sleep with young kids at home, she was really good though and well deserved of a generous tip.

Saturday night in Alma... Get a reservation for the patio. Extensive craft beer menu with Holy Whale, Tire Shack, CAVOK. Elevated ingredients. Not your typical bar food. Duck confit tacos with roasted nectarines. We had: Pork tacos with roasted pineapple. Nacho Daddy Burger - make no mistake this is not your typical burger. Topped with a few Doritos! How often do you have a burger and not add ketchup?!? Go for the extra Bougie Fries. You won't be disappointed! The combination of parmagiano reggiano and garlic aioli is fantastic! The bread pudding served with warm caramel sauce was a perfect ending. Jade is a local legend with personality to spare! Her local knowledge and ability to read a crowd was apparent. Serving dessert with 2 glasses of ice water. Genius. Make time to enjoy Alma and park your butt at Tipsys!

We felt lucky to get an outdoor table right away, but everything went downhill after that. The place wasn't overly crowded, but the main courses took more than 90 minutes to arrive. It seems like the waitress forgot to put the orders in, but even after we reminded her, it took another 45 minutes. When the food finally arrived, the order was incorrect. After another round of waiting for the correct order, the fish tacos were mostly just breading and the burger was cooked to the firmness of a hockey puck. When the bill arrived, it included a charge for an additional item that we didn't order. Even without this mistake, it was $142 (before tip) for a very low quality meal with a couple of decent drinks. If you do give it a try, dress warmly. There was a heat warning issued for Alma that day, but the restaurant ran out of complimentary blankets for all of the under-dressed and shivering diners who thought the back terrace would be warm on such a nice day.

We ate here two days, back to back, during a camping trip in Chignecto. Awesome menu, exactly what you want in a seaside pub: Great seafood, awesome burgers, amazing beer selection. We came back day 2 instead of trying a new spot because the food was so great on day 1, everyone wanted to go back to such a cool spot! The atmosphere, staff, and ownership are top notch. All smiles, quick service, hot and tasty food! Kids menu was excellent and kiddo loved the fish and chips, as did I. On day two she went for the fish again and I did the "Kool" Burger, which is a "Chef's Special" that changes...I was lucky enough to have his home-raised pork (burger) with peri-peri ketchup, local veg, and FANTASTIC fries. It had a real Curryworst vibe in terms of seasoning and the flavours were there to play! It was AMAZING. This chef know what's up and how to construct a great fusion dish that is both it's own thing and a proper homage to its inspiration. There was so much flavour, but nothing overpowering. It was an immediate "Top 5" Burger for me and a real "sum is greater than it's parts" food experience. It all went together so well, that burger is going to haunt my dreams. Huge fan of this place, now, and we will be making day trips to enjoy the menu and deck since we are only an hour away. The owner/head chef served us and chatted with us between tasks and he is a great dude running a cool spot. All the staff were helpful and kind and clearly enjoyed the atmosphere, too. They raise some of their own meat and all the produce and baked goods were local. If you are in Alma for any amount of time and want a tasty, well made, fair priced, good portioned meal, check out Tipsy Tails!! I am NOT surprised to see they are rated #1 in Alma!!!

We recently had a getaway at Alma following the lifting of pandemic restrictions. Few restaurants or shops were open but we were fortunate that Tipsy Tails was open for supper. We had an excellent lobster roll accompanied by either a mixed salad or sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were the best that we have tasted and the salad was very good, too. Our server, Jeremy, was very friendly, helpful and pleasant.

We ate at Tipsy Tails Restaurant on October 9, 2023. We were seated on the deck/plastic chairs and tables. We ordered lobster which I realize now was not a good setting to enjoy our lobster in. When it finally came, the lobster was lukewarm with parts of it cold, cold. I'm not convinced that it was served with real butter, plus it was cold. When we went to pay, their credit card machine was down. I had noticed them trying to make it work with another patron. So of course when we went to pay with our credit card, it wouldn't work! The bill was $131.10 without the tip. The two of us had to pool our cash together to pay the bill. Why didn't they tell us prior to ordering that their machine was down? All in all, it was not a pleasant dining experience! We came away from there very unhappy!

The seafood chowder was heavenly served with a creative dulce and fennel biscuit. The fish tacos were equally great and we enjoyed every bite of both! We sat outside and were offered a blanket by an extremely friendly waitress. This place needs to be on your things to do list!

We went to Tipsy Tales today because it had been well recommended by friends. My husband had the fish and chips which he rated excellent. I had a bowl of their delicious seafood chowder. But then hubby ordered the sour cream lemon pie. He swears it was THE BEST dessert he ever had! A lovely pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

Chowder was bland and chalky. My wife had the fish and asked for roasted potatoes, the 8 half potatoes were deep fried. If she had wanted deep fried she would have asked for fries. The fish batter was too thick and resulted in getting greasy fish. The waiting staff were professional and courteous and did their job properly, it was the kitchen staff that really dropped the ball with our experience with this restaurant.

Stopped by Tipsy Tails this evening for supper with the family of 4 - we got there about 5:45 and we got seated right away on the deck. Drink order was placed - appetizer was a large salad that two adults and 2 kids lightly "picked" at - I thought $16 seemed a little steep for that salad - yes delicious but seemed pricey but the waitress forgot to charge for a second glass of wine, so it did pan out. Both kids had burger and fries - I noticed both kids burgers needed to have ketchup added - no problem - both kids devoured and cleaned plates. I had the tipsy burger with bougie fries - since I noticed the kids burger needed ketchup added...I assembled mine and took a bite without - not bad - I did add ketchup, seemed better. Overall, great burger - patty was so flavorful. Wife had the street corn with birria tacos - she made a comment to the waitress that it was the best meal she has had in a long time! I don't hear that very often - maybe it was the free second glass of wine rubbing off.

One of the most recommended spots to eat in Alma where considering the area it caters to tourists by selling generally local fares for a markup price. It's certainly a busy spot and can be difficult to get a table depending when you go- though I imagine after the heavy vacation season it gets easier. Fish and chip was decent, a bit greasy and their fries are good. If I recall correctly the street corn was 11$ (I couldn't find the summer menu, winter shows it as 8$) which is preposterous no matter what you stick on it consering an ear of corn in Summer around these parts is usually about 0.50$. Skip the Budha (sic) bowl, my wife had it and said it was one of the worst meals she's had in a restaurant. A number of disjoined roasted items thrown together in a bowl with nothing to make it cohesive. It's probably not a giant seller since people go there for the seafood. Also, I couldn't find the Summer 2024 menu on Facebook and the one they display under their menu section has prices from probably 5 years ago! That annoys me so for that I took away an extra star from my review. Please don't go expecting a 21$ lobster roll, it's actually 31$ and why they use dill I couldn't tell you as it just overpowers the lobster.

My cousin and I stopped here for dinner after exploring the Hopewell Rocks provincial park. One of the parks people highly recommend the Tipsy Tails restaurant and it was absolutely amazing!! I had the fish tacos with black bean pico de gallo served on warm corn tortillas and my cousin had their hearty seafood chowder. The flavours were so tasty we knew the chef had put a lot of thought into the dishes. And the patio overlooks the fishing vessels in the harbour where you can watch the tides change while you eat your meal. It was a bit chilly out so they even brought us lap blankets to keep us warm. We highly recommend you visit this restaurant!!!!

We chose Tipsy Tails based on the outstanding rating they had on Trip Advisor and it was absolutely worth the high rating. Jeremy gave us superb service and the food was incredible. We highly recommend the mussels, STREET CORN, specialty burger of the week, and the lobster roll. They also had a great selection of local beers on tap. Definitely go!
