It was amazing - ya, service was a little slow but it was well worth the wait - staff was excellent. Had the Cesar with the fried pickle to start - rim could use some work but drink was good. I had the Classic Burger...- that was delicious. I would recommend upgrading to the "bougey fries" - those little suckers are dangerously delicious.More

We made a mad dash from the Bold Coast in Maine to see the Bay of Fundy before Hurricane Lee hit the New Brunswick coast. Tired after a very long and memorable day we filled up the gas tank in Alma and noticed a cute...restaurant open across the street. What a lucky stop for us! We ate dinner on the back deck along the wharf at low tide. Large lobster boats were moored just steps away, with their hulls resting on the ground. Such a beautiful setting for outdoor dining! My husband and I started by sharing a generous bowl of Jason’s Chowder, full of Haddock, Bay Scallops and chunks of tasty Lobster. This chowder was unique in flavor with a little dill (?) in the creamy chowder. So delicious! The chowder came with a “Sea Biscuit” that was so good that I saved half of it for a late night treat. I chose the LOBSTER ROLL for my meal and it was ONE of the BEST I have had! Stuffed absolutely full of bites of lobster in a perfectly seasoned dill mayonnaise dressing, my taste buds were dancing in my mouth. My side was a “Seasonal Salad” which was also amazingly delicious and so fresh tasting - greens, watermelon, feta, hemp hearts, pickled onions in a strawberry and thyme vinaigrette. Yum! And the experience was made even more memorable by the great service we received from Emily who didn’t bat an eye when 4 of us showed up 30 minutes before a 9 pm closing, hungry and full of questions about the menu. Thank you Emily for tending to all our requests. We can’t wait to return to the Tipsy Tales Wharfside Restaurant.More

We made a reservation for outdoor seating and actually got a primo reserved table! Sweet! Having seen the Caesar cocktail on menus in the area, I chose the Dill Pickle Caesar drink. It was delicious! The pickle was like deep fried - I ate it...right away. The drink seems like a variation on a bloody mary, and was really good! We both got lobster rolls, which were superb! The lobster was the freshest, and the roll was from a local bakery, and so good. Service was perfect and we had a truly enjoyable experience!More

Food was OK but lobster was not the 1.5lbs it was supposed to be for $57.00. The pasta special was fantastic though. Service was good.

We dropped by this restaurant for an afternoon beer with scallops as an appetizer. I don't think I have had better scallops which were finished with a glazed maple sauce. For a beer I chose a sour Pink Lemonade which turned out to be perfect...for a wamish sunny afternoon sitting in a seat next to the small harbor.More

Moderately priced, we thoroughly enjoyed a late lunch here. There are outside tables that allow you to enjoy the waterfront view of the Bay of Fundy. Staff was courteous and facility while old, very clean. We finally decided to experiment and try Poutine. It was...delicious. Alma is a very nice little place to enjoy if you a driving through the park to the Hopewell Rocks, touring the area or camping nearby. This restaurant is worth a stop.More

Went for a late lunch as my husband was craving a lobster roll. Informed that their rolls are served cold & chef uses dill in the mayo dressing. Accommodated us by serving lobster warm w/butter but roll was also filled with lettuce so minimal lobster...meat. Also ordered seafood chowder which was also seasoned with dill? Apparently chef has a thing for dill!More

Good food, but make a reservation as the best seat is by the water and if you time it right with the tide the water will disappear during your meal.

Chowder was bland and chalky. My wife had the fish and asked for roasted potatoes, the 8 half potatoes were deep fried. If she had wanted deep fried she would have asked for fries. The fish batter was too thick and resulted in getting greasy...fish. The waiting staff were professional and courteous and did their job properly, it was the kitchen staff that really dropped the ball with our experience with this restaurant.More

Food is great but they took 55 minutes to bring the order to us. Way too slow and unacceptable service. The waitress said the order was messed up as it went into the kitchen. Sound familiar? Should have read other reviews more carefully. Won’t be...back. Alma boathouse had much better service.More

We felt lucky to get an outdoor table right away, but everything went downhill after that. The place wasn't overly crowded, but the main courses took more than 90 minutes to arrive. It seems like the waitress forgot to put the orders in, but even...after we reminded her, it took another 45 minutes. When the food finally arrived, the order was incorrect. After another round of waiting for the correct order, the fish tacos were mostly just breading and the burger was cooked to the firmness of a hockey puck. When the bill arrived, it included a charge for an additional item that we didn't order. Even without this mistake, it was $142 (before tip) for a very low quality meal with a couple of decent drinks. If you do give it a try, dress warmly. There was a heat warning issued for Alma that day, but the restaurant ran out of complimentary blankets for all of the under-dressed and shivering diners who thought the back terrace would be warm on such a nice day.More

Spending a ‘girls weekend’ in Alma, we went to Tipsy Tails for dinner on Saturday night. Our server Jeremy was absolutely fantastic & very knowledgeable about all of the dishes (& we ordered several). Everything was absolutely fabulous - the drinks, the lobster dip, flambéed...scallops, boujie fries, lemon pepper wings, Street Corn, the chef’s pesto mussels, along with the bread. Oooooh the bread. Would recommend Tipsy Tails to anyone & everyone & we will definitely be back!More

We ate here two days, back to back, during a camping trip in Chignecto. Awesome menu, exactly what you want in a seaside pub: Great seafood, awesome burgers, amazing beer selection. We came back day 2 instead of trying a new spot because the food...was so great on day 1, everyone wanted to go back to such a cool spot! The atmosphere, staff, and ownership are top notch. All smiles, quick service, hot and tasty food! Kids menu was excellent and kiddo loved the fish and chips, as did I. On day two she went for the fish again and I did the "Kool" Burger, which is a "Chef's Special" that changes...I was lucky enough to have his home-raised pork (burger) with peri-peri ketchup, local veg, and FANTASTIC fries. It had a real Curryworst vibe in terms of seasoning and the flavours were there to play! It was AMAZING. This chef know what's up and how to construct a great fusion dish that is both it's own thing and a proper homage to its inspiration. There was so much flavour, but nothing overpowering. It was an immediate "Top 5" Burger for me and a real "sum is greater than it's parts" food experience. It all went together so well, that burger is going to haunt my dreams. Huge fan of this place, now, and we will be making day trips to enjoy the menu and deck since we are only an hour away. The owner/head chef served us and chatted with us between tasks and he is a great dude running a cool spot. All the staff were helpful and kind and clearly enjoyed the atmosphere, too. They raise some of their own meat and all the produce and baked goods were local. If you are in Alma for any amount of time and want a tasty, well made, fair priced, good portioned meal, check out Tipsy Tails!! I am NOT surprised to see they are rated #1 in Alma!!!More
