It was a mad house when we were there. There was at least two bus loads of cruisers & other smaller groups. We sat outside in the sun& it was nice. I think at a time without bus loads, it would have been great. You...can walk out to the Bay of Fundy from there. Food was very good. Idk about Canada pricing. We had two large bowls of excellent chowder with biscuits on the side & a drink & it was $36.78 before tip. Our friends had fish & chips which was also excellent. You order & pay at the counter & they bring it out to you. I think if you go to Bay of Fundy this is a must do.More

We stopped at this local restaurant for a quick bite during our tour from Saint John and were delighted with the experience. This diner appears to be for more locals than tourists so we liked it, even though we are tourists. Lol. We shared the...lobster roll, the terrific fresh French fries, tasty cole slaw, the seafood chowder, and the Moulsen Light beer. All of it really hit the spot.More

So after a very busy schedule I suggested to my wife that we head out to THE CAves for lunch last week; despite it being crowded with buses from the cruise ships we were served in a rather seamless way; the staff were exceptional, the...service second to none and the seafood we ordered was over the top. delicious ,value added and simply sensational. We even met the ever pleasant and engaging owner....Truly it was a high-light of our side trips we have been making in our province...and truly a must STOP for ALL travellers.More

Came in with a small group. Pretty rude staff. Everything seemed to be pre-packaged / frozen, and not very good. Not many options so if you’re starving this will get you by.

Visited The Caves on a mini-van tour. The chowder was highly recommended but I had Bay of Fundy scallops. Delicious! Flakey fried crust and the scallops melted in my mouth. It is a quaint seashore cafe - no frills, but they seemed capable of serving...the tourist buses as well as small groups such as ours.More

The seafood is excellent though a little pricey which is to be expected in these days of increased food prices and staff shortages. Gone to St. Martin every summer for many years and always eat at least once here. The fish chowder is probably the...best I have ever had as am a big fan of chowders and have tried at many restaurants. Had fish and chips this time which was also great and had enough left over for another meal at campsite. Have also had seafood platter and it is huge and very good. The view of the caves is wonderful and if the tide is low is an interesting place to explore.More

Being part of a tour group we could only sample their chowder which turned out to be good. The waitresses did a good job trying to serve so many people quickly. If visiting again I would like to try other menu items in their full...sit down restaurant. I do have one big complaint - whoever designed the restroom should be fired and forced to use them for all eternity. There were two rooms, one for men and one for women. Each had two "stations" - commodes for the women and a commode and urinal for men. Neither had space to wait in line inside so as to make the lines move a little faster. Once a patron took care of business they would wash their hands inside the station and then exit. This slowed the process to a snail's crawl. This did not work with the huge number of people who had to wait.More

You enter through a covered patio that is right on the beach. Once inside you order and the meal is brought right to your table, wether inside seating or inside seating with a view of the caves! We ate there twice during our stay in...St Martin. First time we ordered the fishermans platter with scallaps, haddock, shrimp and clams served with a side of fries. Fish was fried to perfection! Second time, we tried a cup of fish chowder and biscuit. The chowder was rich and creamy full of large pieces of lobster, shrimp, haddock and clams. The homemade biscuits were light, fluffy, and melt in your mouth delicious!More

Very tasty chowder. We followed the “world famous chowder” signs and glad we stopped. The chowder came with tasty biscuits. The view is amazing and right on the beach.

After Thanksgiving, the Caves restaurant is open only when cruises dock in the Saint John harbour. If definitely closes for the season early November (when cruises season ends as well). It re-opens early May.
