About
Skipper's Restaurant serves up a broad menu of homemade, delicious meals. We serve Atlantic crab, local lobster, salmon, mussels (all when in season) Atlantic Cod, cod tongues, scallops, shrimp- just to name a few seafood options, as well as grilled chicken, pork ribs, spaghetti and meatballs, 7 oz. burgers, sandwiches, fresh soups and salads, homemade desserts, etc. Everything is homemade and prepared on site in our kitchen. Skipper's is also located directly on the water, so we offer the most amazing views of the harbour. Watch fishermen come in with their daily catch, see icebergs glisten under the summer sun and watch whales spout as they frolic in the cool Atlantic waters. Why not make

Recently came here for supper. Food was great, big portions, tasted great as well. Facilities were clean, welcoming as well. Staff members was very nice. Food was really expensive however. I recommend this location to anyone!

Enjoyed dinner and live music on the patio at Skippers. The atmosphere was amazing, beautiful sunset, entertaining local musicians, I don’t think it can get much better. It was a very memorable evening. The only downside was a large tour group which took up most...of the other tables on the patio long after they had done their meals (leaving clothing and shoes strewn across the tables), allowed their children to run around disturbing other patrons and largely ignored the musicians. The staff did their best to politely ask the tour group to move on so that they could seat other patrons on the patio.More

Incredibly disappointed & offended with this establishment. Walked in this morning at around 11am. Immediately noticed two staff eating at a table, then as my girlfriend and I walked over to select a table we were told by the lady behind the bar that due...to the fact that a tour bus was on the way, they had only one table we could sit at, beside where the staff had been eating. Found that mildly offensive, as it should imo be first come first serve, especially given that there were no reserved signs on any of the tables. We were then given breakfast menus, the lady specifically said they were still serving breakfast, unless we wanted somehing else. Yet when I asked for their regular menu she went back on this, said she had to speak with their "cook" about it. She came back a minute or so later saying their cook didn't want to cook anything other than breakfast for us because.. they have to clean the grill between each meal & had a tour bus coming?.. As a commercial cook myself I find that appallingly lazy, absolutely pathetic customer service. Have heard decent things about this place so I'm dismayed to find that they discriminate against paying customers in such a way. Won't be back.More

I had ordered the cod au gratin, wanting to try a different option. It came out piping hot. I was disappointed with my main component as in my view anything other than a grilled fish is messing with things. The salad was very good, highlighted...by orange slices and cranberries. The dessert saved the meal. The peak of the meringue was roughly 3”/7.5cm in height. It was good to boot. The restaurant looks out into the bay. There are outdoor tables but they were not in use in September. The gold building is close to the Ryan Premises.More

Skipper's is next to Ryan Premises. When we were here, a bus tour came in so we had the only table not being used by the bus tour. There is a bar and dining room which has big windows overlooking the deck and lake. Even...though they were busy with the bus tour, they still managed to get us our meal in a reasonable time. Food was good, a bit on the expensive side, but not unreasonable. The servers were pleasant and accommodating. It is part of an inn, so it is a bit small. Very convenient if you want to tour Ryan Premises.More

After a full day of travel and touring we were ready for a good dinner. Skippers did not disappoint. The seafood chowder was full of big chunks of fish, scallops, and shrimp. Very filling. The mussel appetizer was fresh and a very large portion. The...pea soup was also substantial. The Fisherman's Platter was very satisfying. The truncheons were new to us. We found them to be very salty. An interesting addition to the fish. Fish and chips were tasty. All the food arrived very hot. The side salad was pleasantly more than just lettuce and a few pieces of veg. An interesting choice of local beer on tap. We waited 10 minutes for a table. They don't take reservations.More
