Hoped to have a stay and dine experience but the dining room has closed but nothing updated on the site. However, the Inn still operates as if it too is getting ready to close - the for sale sign out front is a dead giveaway...all that said, our premium room was superb and the breakfast served in the morning was... Had supper while staying at the Inn, delicious food, great service and very good value. Good wine selection and reasonable prices there too.

The premises looked a little run-down as we approached , and the inside was certainly "period" though not as nicely done as the B&B we'd left to go there. We were faced with a set menu with little choice in a not very well-occupied dining room. Only saw one person (our server) when there. Flavour of "Marie Celeste". Would not... More

This Dining room is part of the B&B, it is a lovely old heritage home. The food was excellent. We had the pork tenderloin with home made rhubarb chutney. What a great combination.

A group of women friends went to lunch at Sophia's where we had a wonderful dining experience. The small dining room is charming. The service was attentive and Newfoundland-friendly. The food was expertly prepared, using quality fresh ingredients. The fish cakes were full of mild flavoured flsh, not packed with potatoes, so they were light and delicious. The mixed salad... More

We arrived in Carbonear in a driving rainstorm, heavy fog, and cold north winds. Stayed at a nearby small motel and decided to try the restaurant mentioned on the town map, Sophia's Fine Dining. We weren't sure what to expect but.. What an unbelievable surprise! The food was amazing, best we had in Nfld. The server was prompt, attentive, and... More

We stayed at Sophia's Heritage Inn, not knowing about the amazing food that was offered. Our dinner was a 3 course set meal, salad, salmon and dessert. It was excellent and the service was superb. The main restaurant was full the night we were there, but Jennifer offered to serve dinner to us in the upstairs foyer. We had a... More
