We visited a month ago for coffee and cake and were shocked at the lack of atmosphere and customer service (being in the service and tourism industry ourselves it really stood out to us) We decided to return to give it another try (and to...support local) Unfortunately exactly the same thing happened. The room was uncomfortably silent and lacked atmosphere and no welcome was given. When we walked up to the counter to order, the staff member was indifferent and not friendly at all. My older father was confused that the coffee shop is vegetarian. He was asking the girl about the options and trying to order a sandwich with meat! We all looked at the staff member to explain and maybe give an alternative option he may enjoy. Maybe a “meaty” type sandwich with mushrooms. But she just stood there and offered no help or explanation at all. The sandwich and were excellent but we were left feeling disappointed for the second time. We will return for the great food!More

We weren't expecting to find a vegetarian lunch and coffee place in Port Rexton, so when we saw Two Whales we knew we had to try it. We arrived for a late lunch after a morning of hiking, and the meal we got was absolutely...perfect - a light tasty sandwich and cold drinks. The desserts we tried were lovely as well. Would recommed.More

Friendly staff and very good food. We ate at the Two Whales twice during our stay in Port Rexton and really enjoyed our lemonade, sandwiches and date squares.

Very small inside and very unorganized. The lady workers had long hair and no hair nets!! the parking was awful and limited spots to sit down. Go somewhere else

Great little place to get a caffeine fix and a treat. It’s obvious the owners take great pride of offering quality ingredients. They have a beautiful garden out back for fresh ingredients. Lovely beer/coffee garden out front surrounded by wild rose bushes. Roadside library to...borrow a book to enjoy. Brownies are delish! Lots of Vegan/Organic/GF options on menu. Small selection of NL treats/crafts/coffee/merch. Gorgeous place. Doesn’t open until 10 though so not for the early riser to depend on ;). But great for a late morning/afternoon pick me up.More

Stopped in for a take out coffee and decided to add a piece of carrot cake to the order. This was hands down the best coffee I had during my 2 week visit to Nfld and the carrot cake was delicious loved the walnuts just...perfect.More

I come here multiple times a summer and the food is always great. The quality and variety they pump out with a small staff is amazing. The service is usually good to excellent. Don’t be alarmed by the small kitchen, they are very attentive to...allergies and food sensitivities. I have celiac and have never once been “gluten poisoned”. My vegan friends and gluten sensitive ones love a place where there are many items (including desserts) to choose from.More

Great place! Owners are working hard to make is a great spot. Tried several of their baked goods and was VERY impressed. Their salads an delicious soups and sandwiches look delicious as well. Place was packed several times I was there. Can also sit outside...on the deck ( limited casual seating) and enjoy the view and winds...lol...coming off the bay at Port Rexton. The coffee is what I was most impressed with. Best cups of coffee I had in the bonavista/trinity/ clarenville area! Cute little veggie garden outside with real chickens clucking around. Only suggestion is for an earlier opening. Currently opens at 10. Even 9 would be a help for us good- coffee desperate travelers!More

Such a delightful place. Chill, relax and enjoy it. If you're looking for meat go elsewhere. The owners are wonderful and dedicated to providing wholesome, healthy vegetarian meals. Paninis, soup, bagels, desserts. I do wish they were open before 10. Occasionally evening entertainment events.
