Starting with drinks on the deck, the evening shifted inside the restaurant to enjoy a delicious 3-course meal, main course pre-selected the day before. The space is cozy and intimate, yet spacious for the number of quests dining at a time. Reservations must be made in advance, but well worth the experience, and at a very reasonable price considering the quality of food and drink provided. Highly recommend Twine Loft as one of the top places to dine alone the East coast!

We have dined at the Twine Loft on numerous occasions. The food choices are always superb and prepared in unique ways that are delicious and flavourful. My favourite is the seafood options! Only the freshest and highest quality ingredients are used and sourced. The service is second to none. Staff are committed to the customer experience and one can view the service from kitchen to table from the lower floor. The show the characters of servers deliver is as entertaining as the shows at the nearby theatre! Servers glide through the beautiful dining room while chefs orchestrate meals to plates, all perfectly timed to the evening’s three courses. The atmosphere is exactly what the Trinity traveller thrives on! Old world charm with a hint of glitter. Delicate tables with simple yet sparkling centrepieces, all against the most perfect sunsets in the bight. It’s as common to see diners in their best dress as it is to see them in a dusted off hiking boot and a collared shirt with rolled sleeves. The Twine Loft delivers the best post hiking/pre theatrical show experience and is sure to be on every Trinity travellers list of things to do/eat and see! Just be sure to arrive early enough to enjoy a drink on the dreamy deck, where you’ll undoubtedly chat about not just visiting Trinity again soon but possibly calling it home. It’s entirely possible it might just happen.

Twine Loft makes a whole experience of dinner- it felt more like a dinner party than a restaurant booking. We arrived to pre dinner cocktails on the most gorgeous patio adorned with fishing nets and lobster traps and Adirondack chairs overlooking a view you’d think was a movie set. Being called in to the dining room, again it feels like being a guest in someone’s home and the most delicious food is brought, and brought, and brought to the table- Warm bread with herbed butter, comfort food soup, lovingly prepared mains and dessert that reminded me of my grandmother. I ordered the pork and my partner the salmon. We were surprised we both preferred the pork, which was truly 5 star. Tracy was attentive and hospitable and she was clearly delighted that we were delighted- just as if she had hosted us in her own home. Can’t wait to return.

With all the build up prior to our dinner here expectations were very high. The Twine Loft requires a lot of paper work before you are "granted" a reservation for either 5:15 or 8:00. There is a list of rules and regulations that one must follow to dine here. And the dinner entree must be selected (only 2 choices) 1 day in advance. You will be emailed and must reply to the email to make your selections by a certain time.
It was all very quirky and amusing . Based on the glowing reviews we expected a dinner beyond compare.
In reality this was a below average meal with nothing special at all. The bread was warm but not anything out of the ordinary. This was followed by an adequate salad of mostly greens. The pork chop was overcooked as was the salmon. Both were bland quite honestly. The toppings were the only saving grace for either entree. Even blander than the entrees were the boiled carrots. No flavor whatsoever. The little potatoes were fine but there weren't many. The best part of this meal was the dessert. Some kind of ginger cake that we did enjoy.
The 5:15 "dining experience" consisted of just these three courses and was over by 6:15. Service was fine but not overly welcoming.
What a disappointment. Very overpriced and underwhelming.

The Twine Loft is a unique little spot with a nice character and novel idea for the area, my partner and I chose them because of their accommodation policy. They advertised meeting the wishes of several groups, including plant-based/vegan. However, the outcome was very disappointing and extremely lacking. While other patrons seemed to enjoy choices and flavours, we were limited to a single, rather bland main. More depressing was the idea that simply removing the cheese from the appetizer salad and that a fruit cup sufficed for dessert. This is not an issue unique to the Twine Loft, but few promote their “willingness” as blatantly.
Ultimately, the TL is not accommodating, they are compromising. There is neither an equitable meal nor a compensation for the difference in quality and effort.
Be warned.

A-slice-of-heaven
Hello, thank you for your feedback, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your evening dining experience with us. We would like to take the opportunity to address some of your comments. We would like to note that guests can have the salad without the cheese if they chose not to have the vegan soup also offered. Our soups are all made with vegetable stock and if the soup being offered to all diners is cream based on the night a vegan is dining with us we are able to offer an alternative vegan soup. The only time we would offer a fruit cup to someone is if they could not eat our house made wild berry sorbet. I checked with our staff and they do not recall anyone requesting a fruit cup instead of the sorbet this year. We do recall telling someone who was booking that if they did not like the set vegan dessert, we could do a fruit cup, so perhaps that was you. Regarding the main and your “lack of choice”, we offer a fish dish and meat dish each evening and advertise that we can accommodate dietary restrictions including vegan diets. We are by no means a restaurant that specializes in vegan meals and we have never strived to promote ourselves that way. We are a small restaurant with only two ovens to serve all our patrons at a sitting. While we can accommodate a vegan main meal we cannot offer more than one choice of vegan meal per evening. Similarly, if a guest expressed they don’t eat fish they would not be given two options of meat and vice versa. We do collect information on allergies and severe dislikes and advise diners what their mains will be the day prior to their reservation, giving people the chance to cancel if they do not like the selection for the evening they booked.
We are finding that with the surging volume of visitation to our business by those that want our regular set menu dining experience, having the ability to accommodate vegan diners has become more of a challenge than in previous years. We have reviewed our website and the section on dietary needs and have updated our message to ensure that there is no misunderstanding as to how we can accommodate vegans who wish to eat with us despite us being a set menu restaurant. Thank you for your feedback and helping us to be more clear with future diners about what we can offer. Below is the information provided on our website.
“Due to tourism volumes being higher than years pre-pandemic, we are finding it more of a challenge to accommodate those following a vegan diet and provide the variety of choice desired. We operate out of a small kitchen with one cook, limited storage space and only two ovens to serve up to 26 guests per seating, additionally we are often making meals with modifications for various allergies. Finding the space and the time to produce a separate 3-course meal that does not include any animal products is more challenging now that we are operating at full capacity most nights. If you are a vegan wishing to dine with us, please contact us so we may discuss if what we are able to offer meets your expectations, tastes and is of interest to you for the price point. Please note that because we have limited seating capacity and a short operating season, we do not reduce our price point for our two-hour dining experience for guests wanting alternative menus to our nightly fish and meat dishes.”

Location is fantastic down by the water with tables spread out so they feel quite private. Service was fantastic. Waitress very concerned ensuring everyone had a good time. Quite hot on the second floor though which didn’t help the meal. Highlight of the fixed meal itself was unfortunately the bread which was fantastic. Salmon entree was over cooked, ginger cake for dessert was very dense and soup appetizer was lacking flavor and very think. Price was reasonable and maybe I expected too much based on other reviews but wouldn’t recommend to friends if they visited.

A lovely experience. A delicious seaweed gin martini on the deck, wrapped in a blanket watching the sun lower. Great attention paid to my lactose intolerance. Delicious soup, vegetables and cod cooked to perfection, chocolate dessert with partridge berry coulis watching the sun set from our table at the window. Warm Newfoundland hospitality, friendly attentive service. An experience not to be missed.

We came for the 515pm seating, early June, Saturday night, so as to be done before the 800pm live theatre. We were given two menu choices: walnut crusted salmon or pork chop with rhubarb chutney. We were contacted a day early to make our choices. Upon arrival, we were given a choice of soup or salad to start. Our group tried both the soup, the salad, and both choices of the main. The dessert was an awesome sticky toffee pudding. Staff are very attentive and professional. The presentation of the food was high quality too. They run a tight ship, keeping all the guests on schedule. They have a nice deck out back for a before dinner cocktail.

Our high expectations of this restaurant continue to be met and we have been amazed again at the quality, presentation and taste of the dishes selected during our last visit and of the venue itself. Not many locations around where you can sit back, watch the sunset and a sailboat pass by the front of the resturant! The cod is the freshest you will find anywhere in this hemisphere and the other dishes, whether they be pork, lamb, chicken or salmon (or something else the chef conjures up!), is to die for. Always welcoming with a friendly face and with service no tip could justly reward - a highly recommended visit to anyone's visit to Trinity Bight. Truly one of the best restaurants in the province.

The food was delicious. We had chosen our entree from two selections offered in the email from Twine Loft the day before. There was a choice of starter and dessert included. Our meal was sweet potato soup, salmon with a mango and pickled onion salsa and bread pudding with caramel sauce and whipped cream. We chose to sit upstairs in this charming setting. The service was wonderful. Reservations are a must. We highly recommend the Twine Loft.

It is simply delightful - the dock on the lake, the sunset, the room - so pretty. I want to move there. I had walnut-crusted salmon which was fresh and beautifully cooked. Delicious. H had the lamb shank and he loved it. We split appetizers, and both the lobster bisque and salad (with these sweet tender shoots I forget the name of) were perfectly done.
The molasses ginger cake with creme? I devoured it, and I'm not a big dessert person.
Overall, a really really beautiful evening.

Simply amazing!
From the bread basket with herb butter to the chocolate cake dessert, absolutely amazing. The blackened Atlantic salmon was one of the very best fish dish I have experienced in a long time. And all of this paired with superb service by Tracey made this a truly first class dining experience!

So glad we made the decision to reserve a table at the Twine Loft while visitingTrinity. We were in for a treat! I love that you choose your meal before you go so you can just walk in and enjoy the food, atmosphere and of course the company. The view is fantastic overlooking the water. The food was impeccable. I had the pork in a rhubarb chutney sauce and it was perfection. The service was excellent. Shout-out to Glenn, our server, who made the experience superb. Keep in mind it was a set menu with a choice for your starter and main, but they certainly accommodate for any dietary restrictions or preferences beforehand. Awesome - highly recommend!

The location of the Twine Loft is so perfect!!! The pre-dinner drinks on the deck was one my highlight.
The set dinner at $60 a person + drinks and gratuity was delicious but it felt more like a good homemade meal than a casual fine dining. I was very surprised by the size of the main meal. I doubt that anyone could have finished the piece of pork that I got with my main. I couldn’t enjoy my dessert since I was so stuffed. Everything was delicious, but I felt it was not a culinary experience on its own.
If you have the chance, stop in this wonderful small village and get a drink on the deck the sunset is amazing!
