We arrived just as a coach load were leaving and we (along with others) were asked to wait for 15-minutes until they'd cleared the place up, then called in (in order). Very efficient and I was concerned that the staff might be a little exhausted after this (apparently) late afternoon ritual. But no, business resumed as though nothing had happened. It's a large bar/restaurant with a large area outside so there were lots of staff buzzing around, but our waiter looked after us well. A singer/guitarist was also outside playing at a volume that meant they could probably hear him in St Johns. Fortunately he took a break after a while and we removed our ear plugs. Food was reasonable - a Caesar salad and a Chowder washed down with a few nice beers. Trinity's a small (lovely) place so eating options are limited. And whilst this won't set the world alight, it's perfectly adequate.

We were drop-ins on a Thursday night and just managed to score a table for two after a short wait. The restaurant seats about 70, and has apparently been busy non-stop this summer. Our dinner order was taken quickly, and drinks arrived promptly. Delivery of the food, though, was a bit slow, but we were in no rush. We can recommend the fish cakes, and the cod with almonds was nicely done. The accompanying vegetables and salad were the only shortcomings, as the former were a bit overcooked, and the latter a bit unimaginative. For anyone who is a fish & chips fan, the platefuls that went by us looked pretty reasonable. Reservations are only taken for groups of 10 or more, so be prepared to queue if you arrive at a popular time.

The food would rate a 4-5 depending on your menu selection, however I was not pleased that we couldn't get in two days in a row because of bus tours. We called to make a reservation and were told they only reserve in groups of 6 or more (we were a group of 4), however looking at the tables in the place they are all for four, so we ended up not getting in until after 7pm after being put on a waiting list. The servers were extremely friendly and my daughter had the very fresh lobster (they literally took it out of the ocean). I can't even remember what I ate because that lobster took over the show.

We were not impressed with either the service or food. We politely asked servers twice to take our order; they were standing around chatting, and insisted we wait for the server in our section who was busy; no flexibility and no orientation to customer satisfaction. While there were many clean and set tables available, servers continued to clear and clean additional tables rather than serving new customers. Food was ordinary and seafood chowder overly thickened. Will not return to this establishment.

We stayed in Trinity for one night in late September and were blessed with unusually warm weather. We had a beer on the sweet patio with its brightly painted Adirondack chairs and Edison lights, overlooking the marina. This is exactly the kind of scene I’d hoped to find in Newfoundland. We came back for lunch the next day to delicious seafood chowder and fish n chips and the warmest most hospitable service you can imagine.

This is a lovely restaurant right on the water that serves a wide range of food with many Newfoundland classics. We had three dinners here and two were very good and the third was only okay (this was their seafood platter and the mussels were terribly over cooked to point of being inedible; salmon was flavourless). But as I said, the majority of our dining experiences were very good and the service was great, particularly Sharon who warmly welcomed us each time. This is a busy place so sit back, enjoy a beer, watch the view and relax! The food will come soon enough and it will be great!

A perfect lobster dinner at a very reasonable price. Delightful staff, excellent service and beautiful views. The lobster was so fresh that it was in the sea until we ordered it. Excellent chips to go with plus a caesar salad and loaded pototo skins. A memorable meal.

When it is pretty much the only reasonable game in town, we went twice. We were not interested in the two restaurants with fixed menus so ended up here twice. By mid September, many places are already shutting down for the season. Nice place by the water, authentic, nice staff, and pretty good food. One night fish and on the second, tired of fish and fried food, we opted for onion soup and the quesidillas. Pretty good and a nice change from the usual fried stuff on the menu. It's a good place to go.

Possibly the worst meal out I've ever had. Food quality was so poor, we couldn't even eat our meal. Rubbery prawns, sickly milky pasta sauce, vegetables were basically still frozen, food was cold. We couldn't believe how expensive it was, prices were outrageous considering we left the restaurant hungry. I honestly can't understand people's positive reviews here, we thought the food was truly terrible.

Due to the very good reviews here dining out. Beer and cider very delicious, service friendly. Fries have been fried in the same frying oil as fish, i.e. definitely nothing for non-fish eaters. Caesar Salad also tasted slightly fishy.

A very nice, comfortable atmosphere. The menu is definitely a Newfoundland driven menu featuring all the normal items you'd expect to find with a few specials found throughout. Our server was so very sweet and took our order quite quickly. I had the one piece fish and chips and my partner had the smoked salmon bagel. The fish and chips were delicious - so fresh and clearly never frozen with a light batter. The smoked salmon bagel was excellent! A soft bagel with cream cheese and perfectly smoked salmon (not too salty either!) I will say the service was painfully slow and it took us almost an hour to receive our order after placing it. HOWEVER I did feel extremely bad for the two servers. After speaking with one of them they informed me they were the only two people working out front on this day and had done the same thing the night before..the restaurant was so busy the entire time we were there so I can't imagine how tired they must be at the end of their day.

Went for lunch as soon as we arrived in Trinity. Food and service was great. They had just opened and we were seated right away. Food came on time and the young man serving was very polite. However we returned later for a drink as we had some time before going to the dinner theatre. We were told that if we wanted to have a drink then we needed to order food as it was a restaurant. Even after I said we had eaten there earlier she refused to make an exception. She was also rather rude about it. They were not at all busy at the time. I do understand policies but it seemed rather silly as we wanted to sit outside and there was no one there.

We visited on June 21 2022 and I had the best pan fried cod ever with their home made curry dressing on my salad was just as wonderful. Our Server was sweet and attentive. I imagine the view would be good if we could have seen through the fog!

Excellent service! Very attentive to the quality of food served! Our waitress Sharon didn't like the look of the chowder so she ordered the cook to serve a fresh batch. Eventhough the place was extremely busy we were made to feel like we were the only ones in the place. The turkey vegetables and the chowder were both delicious and homemade.

Expensive and unpleasant. Had the bus special of turkey soup and ham and cheese sandwich. Soup full of gristle and the sandwich was on cheap white bread with cheap deli meat. All for $28 CAD! Then tip was included which was fine as the staff were nice. This place wouldn’t survive if the tourists had other food options.
