We sat on the patio overlooking the bay and was such a lovely quiet spot. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and we learned so much about the local area from these lovely local ladies.

My husband, Dale, and I visited The Old Loft this past Monday on the way to Corner Brook and ultimately the ferry to Nova Scotia. Just look at the picture; the best Fish and Chips during our trip across the Island and back! And, we...had some good fish! I hope we can go back some time and stay a few days. An excursion that should be on everyone’s bucket list. The drive is not far from the Trans Canada Highway and the scenery some if the best!More

The "old loft" atmosphere is authentic and great! It's step back to the time the building was erected (probably 75-100 years ago!) We were in Woody Point three days this year (and last year) and returned to the Old Loft four times each year! The...staff are absolutely friendly and service is fast! The food is amazing! Their pan fried cod fish is something I order time after time. Their "fish cakes" are the best I have had anywhere on the Island! I love my coffee DARK, and getting a dark coffee at any local restaurant is a problem. I suggested to the owners that they investigate the possibility of serving "Newfoundland" roasted coffee beans since there are several excellent coffee roasters in the Province now. The prices are ridiculously LOW! I have been to other restaurants in Newfoundland that serve the "same" items (not as tasty), and the prices were 50% to 100% higher than at the Old Loft. This is a place I will visit every time I am within driving distance (I twice drove from Rocky Harbour to Woody Point just to eat there!) We were there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and every selection was delicious!More

Came here recently for lunch. Food was great! Staff members were very friendly and welcoming. We had lunch on their back patio on the second floor. Highly recommended!

We went to The Old Loft for a late lunch after hiking the Tablelands. We split a plate of toutons with molasses, they were tasty. I had the clubhouse platter with fries and dressing and my husband had the hamburger platter. The service was friendly...and we enjoyed our food.More

We had a wonderful dinner at The Old Loft Restaurant in Woody Point, as well as a picnic lunch to enjoy at the Woody Point lighthouse. The atmosphere, including water views and deck seating will not disappoint, as well as the quality of the food...and options available. Book tonight!More

Seafood is excellent, especially the halibut. Cooked to perfection, not over cooked. The ambience of an old fishing loft adds to the experience. Give this place a try

Excellent food. We had the fisherman’s platter and the cod melted in your mouth. The shrimp and scallops were also delicious. This was by far the best cooked seafood I’ve eaten at any restaurant. The restaurant was unique with barrel chairs. Very clean establishment. If...I visit again, I will definitely go back.More

Always make it a point to visit the Old Loft each summer. Went there again and was not disappointed. We ordered the cod chowder as an appetizer, and I had the seafood platter, while my husband had the salmon. The cod chowder left a little...to be desired - not the best I’ve ever had but still yummy and filling! A generous serving as well. The seafood platter was absolutely delicious. Everything was well cooked and flavorful. Always love visiting and look forward to the next visit.More
