My recent visit for a birthday lobster supper left much to be desired. The all-you-can-eat chowder (served in a mug) and mussels were fine.
But the overall experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the price. We both opted for lobster as our main course.
While neighboring tables received piping hot lobster, I inquired with the server about having ours served cold, I was told it was too late to accommodate this request.
Furthermore, towards the end of our meal during dessert, we found ourselves needing to flag down our server to request coffee, which added to the overall sense of dissatisfaction.
In conclusion, while I was excited to spend my birthday having a lobster, the execution and service fell short. Based on this experience, I don't anticipate returning.

If you want a traditional lobster supper, this is a good place to go. Nice decors, speedy service, friendly servers and tasty food. We were there in October (i.e. off season) so it was not busy. The lobsters come pre-cracked for you, but I still recommend wearing the offered bib to protect your clothes from unwanted squirts of sea water. Yum!

Do eat here if you’re staying in Baddeck. The lobster, mussels, crab and more are delicious.
We eat here twice during our stay in Baddeck both times were excellent. However the first time we visited we’d been sitting for an hour waiting for our drinks to be served at another popular restaurant in town, our food order was not forthcoming either. We hurried along to this restaurant arriving a few minutes after it was due to close and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and still cooked for us.
Highly recommend this restaurant for it’s quality and staff
Also we wandered over to the Canadian Legion nearby where they were happy to serve us drinks and we could sit out on their deck in the sunshine - recommend as well!

Having looked at various other Baddeck restaurants we ended up spontaneously choosing Baddeck Lobster Suppers & we're so glad we did. My husband chose the "all you can eat" menu & I chose a lobster main. We shared his chowder, mussels & dessert & each enjoyed our lobster. A really fabulous meal.
Lovely restaurant with great service.

We enjoyed our lobster supper so much! The food was delicious and the service was fast and efficient. Our waitress, Pat was very kind and treated us like friends. The husbands had The $60 lobster meals and Both of them felt that it was very worth while. Wives both had the $40 lobster meal and there was more than enough food.

Wonderful place for a lobster dinner, less pricey than elsewhere but very good. We had the 'all you can eat' option which was very generous with bottomless tasty chowder and mussels, then a decent size lobster or alternative ( snow crab, salmon ir steak). Tasty salads too. Plus coffee and dessert! All for $65 each. Nice ambience and decor, friendly staff. Perfect!

We took some friends to Baddeck Lobster Supper for their first authentic East Coast Lobster Supper.
The meal was really good and a large portion of mussels accompanied the meal.
Beverages (beer) did not have much choices

Nice restaurant with water views. Prompt service. Excellent food. Reasonable prices . 1 1/4 lb lobster is for 37 CAD and comes with sides of potato salad, Cole slaw and vegetables and a nice bread basket too. Wonderful meal.

Once in awhile, you come across a restaurant while you’re travelling where you wished you were staying longer so you could visit it again the next days. This is that place.
Absolutely delicious lobster and crab legs (best along the Cabot Trail), chowder out of this world (big chunks of fish), fantastic mussels and wonderful service.
Their “All-you-can-eat” option is truly worth it. What I mostly appreciated is the lobster and crab price is set, not “market price” which seems a bit suspect to people not in the restaurant business.
Prepare to wait for a table but the staff work very hard to get you in.
Thank you for a wonderful supper in Baddeck.

Our server was very pleasant but inexperienced. After spilling a tall drink on the table they partially cleaned up the liquid with a small cloth. When we asked to have it all wiped up we were given a stack of napkins to do it ourselves.
The meal seemed over priced with overcooked, tough lobster. Limited dessert selection.

$60 for “all you can eat” definitely isn’t the same as the “all you can eat” places on PEI (New Glasgow or Fisherman’s Wharf)
Unlimited chowder (only “ok”), unlimited mussels (can’t go wrong with mussels)…that’s it for the all you can eat part.
One lobster (obviously), but a tiny beast it was…only just over a pound.
One drink (non-alcoholic)… no refills.
One dessert. (Tasty, but not terrific)
Compare to $54 for a 1.5lb lobster at Fisherman’s Wharf in North Rustico, with a huge unlimited salad bar, unlimited mussels, unlimited chowder, as many dinner rolls as you like, as many desserts as you like, free-flowing soft drinks, coffee, tea, etc.
It may sound like I’m some sort of glutton…far from the truth. But I do appreciate being able to get whatever I want in the true “all you can eat” style. If I feel like having three pieces of pie, well, bring it on!
Back to Baddeck. Sometimes it’s the little things… no lobster bib (not a big deal, but it would be nice if they at least offered). No claw crackers. No coffee offered (I asked and it would have been an extra charge). Also, it was a very hot and humid day. Their air conditioner couldn’t keep up so it was pretty warm in the restaurant. Inexplicably, none of the ceiling fans were running. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They seem to do a very brisk business, and the staff were very friendly. Wait time was about 20 minutes.
Overpriced? Yes, compared to other places. But, they have a captive audience in this part of the world, so I guess they can charge what they want for a mediocre experience.
Not a great review. Not a terrible review. Hence the three stars.

We live locally and Baddeck Lobster Suppers is our go to for a wonderful night out. The food is outstanding, fresh, locally sourced and made with love. The servers are quick and very friendly. It's a true Cape Breton experience and we always take our visitors from near and far to enjoy the food and great choice of beverages. Our son, who is not into seafood, loves the salmon and blueberry crisp :)

This place is exactly what you might picture. A limited menu that helps them give fast and friendly service. But enough choice as long as you are interested in seafood. Everything tasted great. If I had any complaint it is that excellent chowder that I had, and we came in only minutes before they’re prescribed closing time, is that the potatoes were very very soft but I’m not sure I can fold them for that it may be their style. If you were looking for lobster or mussels or salmon I can’t really imagine doing better here. At the other of the spectrum, the oatcakes in the bread basket were a grand treat!

We travel to Baddeck every Labour Day Weekend for the past 6 years and for whatever reason , we have never had the pleasure of dining here . This will , from now on , be a must go :) My partner had the all you can eat salmon dinner and I ordered the steak dinner . It was all delicious !! The chowder , the mussels , the salmon ( perfect ) the steak ( one of the best I've ever had ) The service was great , top notch ! Price for all you can eat was $60 and the steak dinner was $26 - worth every penny !! We liked it so much we went back a second time ! See you next year !

The lobster was tiny and arrived with a strong fishy smell (could clearly tell it was not fresh). I love lobster and have to say that I did not think it was possible for it to be this bad. The meat was so tough and rubbery it felt like a choking hazard. Had to force it down to not waste food. Chowder was okay. Snow crab was much better but still bland. Mussels were sandy . The most expensive yet the worst meal we have had on this trip. When we gave our feedback to the server, we were met with a defensive, "this is how we always make our food"... We really felt cheated and truly do not understand how this restaurant is so popular.
