I have had beef tenderloin in many of the best places in North America, but none better than at The Cable Room in Baddeck NS. Belinda served us professionally with warmth and charm.

Food was delicious and staff was so kind and classy! Some of the best food we’ve had in Nova Scotia and that’s really saying something. Our waitress Judy was just lovely, and very knowledgeable! Must try the desserts if you come here.

Fine dining in a “country elegant” historic setting. And an entirely gluten-sensitive kitchen! Kudos

Incredible dinner. Risotto with hand gathered wild mushrooms. Delicious. With an incredible red wine to match. Now one of my favorite restaurants EVER!

We had supper here during our holiday in Cape Breton. We booked our table the night before with no issues. The restaurant is elegant with a lovely vibe. Our server Judy was welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is farm to table, so only local food...is served. The chef really knows his stuff! Seasonal vegetables accompany amazing mains. I had seared scallops on a creamy risotto infused with garlic and smoky bacon. My partner had broiled haddock with a lemon Dijon and Parmesan sauce. Everything was amazing … perfectly cooked and plated with a great aesthetic. Can’t say enough about this place. On top of all this it is very affordable.More

The service and the food were outstanding. If you'd like a wonderful dining experience in Baddeck, this is the place to go. My scallops were divine. There were five people in our party and everyone was happy with their experience.

On vacation, we were looking for a good, relaxing meal. We found it here. The food was excellent and the dessert they claim is the best, actually is the best. The food was wonderful and served attentively in a cozy but quiet setting. A great...experience overall!More

My husband and I went for dinner. Our server was excellent - warm and friendly, explaining dishes and providing recommendations, and attentive without being “pesty” during our meal. We shared the crab cake appetizer. I had their current scallops on bacon rice special and my...husband had the lobster risotto as our mains. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert, but they all sounded very good. We highly recommend the Cable Room.More

Just everything was right, the food was well presented, full of flavour and a real change from the same menus we'd been coming across over the previous few weeks. The service was attentive without being overbearing or giving the impression that they wanted you out...asap to clock up the tip. We were given time to decide, time to eat and enjoy and time to relax afterwards with no pressure. Our first real taste of Nova Scotia wine was a success too even if I remain a fan of France, it was fruity and a good accompaniment to scallops on risotto rice. Finally, the room has plenty of space and the right environment for the meal.More

We dined at the Cable Room twice, and had a great meal each time. The food was beautifully plated and prepared, the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the squash soup was some of the best I've ever had. For the side salads on...the plate, the kitchen went above and beyond with many little bits of fruits and vegetables. Not just your standard pile of greens. Everything was fresh and delicious. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding both times. It was so delicious that I just couldn't pass it up the second time. It's amazing.More

I had to eat here twice as it was so good. The crab cakes were amazing. Tasty, great texture, with a fabulous salad and sauce . Loved the cranberries, the maple roasted walnuts and all the other fresh bits and pieces. The chicken was also...great~ like the best roast chicken my mum used to make. Really tender and juicy, with great accompaniments . The setting is formal and comfortable and the service is fabulous.More

The restaurant was packed so reservations are a must. Dinner was served by a delightful waitress who really enjoyed her profession. I ate a fine lobster risotto and the wife relished her Digby scallops cooked to perfection. Started with the snowcrab cakes which were fantastic...and better than the lobster though the lobster was very fine. The only drawback was undercooked carrots with the entree. Desert was Devine with a homemade maple ice cream with a flamed meringue drowned with maple vodka pour over. Killer serviceMore

Truly one of the best dinners and dining experiences we've ever had. We are two retired couples traveling through Cape Breton during a hurricane. We've dined together in Boston, New York, and across New England. This restaurant is part of the Telegraph House. Very simple...and unpretentious. The food is all locally sourced. Perfect. Every bite was perfect. The presentation of the mixed green salad looked like Christmas. I eat very little red meat, and the steak was amazing. Must have the dessert Winter in Baddeck-- maple ice cream with meringue and a sauce of a maple vodka liqueur. I didn’t feel full. The people are lovely.More
