The Cable Room is a great restaurant we visited on our recent trip to Cape Breton. The food and service are outstanding. It has a bit of a formal atmosphere, which fits well with the building and the image they try to project. The menu...is priced reasonably.More

While staying at the Telegraph Hotel, we enjoyed an enchanting evening at 'The Cable Room' to celebrate an anniversary dinner. Words can barely express the level of calm sophistication wrapped in this adorable little dining spot. All food was prepared in a gluten free kitchen,...complete music to my ears as a Celiac! Didn't know where to start but went ahead with recommendations from our wait staff. All choices extremely delicious and served with an impressive presentation. Left room for dessert and sure glad we did! I highly recommend a stop here for a lovely dining experience and especially a gluten friendly meal.More

The dining room is rather sombre and lacking in atmosphere as the tables are laid formally - but it does not reflect highend dining but in fact the food itself is nothing special - more like simple pub food My' snow crab ' crab cakes...starter for CAN$28 were miniscule even though snow crab is at premium price. They were served on a cold dish. They were not hot and obviously not freshly made - underwhelming The roast chicken though was moist tender flavoursome with fresh mixed vegetables cooked to perfectionMore

There are really only two restaurants worth eating at in Baddeck and this is the more “upscale” of the two. The service, food and setting are all great. Wait staff is professional and the food is exceptional.

We made reservations online earlier in the day and we got our time. The online process was easy! The restaurant is in a heritage house on the Main Street. The dining room was very comfortable with cloth napkins and a tablecloth. Our server, Angie was...very informative and efficient. The food was really delicious—my husband had the haddock and I had the pork tenderloin. Highly recommend!More

Went to dinner here with much expectation because of rave reviews and recommendation of locals. Food was average, service was above average, ambience was average (tablecloth, no view) Rissoto with lobster was plated with a big mound of over salted risotto and one claw of...a very small lobster - a dish that did not really highlight the advertised farm to table! Bottom line, not great value and there are better places to dine if you are passing through Baddek.More

This is a fantastic place with great food and friendly service. The dining room has a formal look, but the atmosphere is not stuffy. We ordered haddock and tenderloin streak, and both were great. The value is excellent too.

Found this place by chance as we were walking by and saw the sign that the restaurant was open to more than the Telegraph House guests. We enjoyed a fine pork tenderloin dinner...well prepared with great veges and potatoes. Service was great and a very...friendly place. Highly recommend for dinner...but do make a reservation as tour groups stay here.More

Our dinner at the cable room at the Telegraph House was our best dining experience in Nova Scotia for both myself (celiac: very careful gluten free) and my husband (who is NOT gluten free and can eat anything). We both thought it was absolutely scrumptious!...This is my first time writing a review on TripAdvisor. I wanted an opportunity to tell other celiacs that this restaurant’s menu is 100% gluten free and beyond delicious! At the next table, I overheard another person say that she is celiac and this is her favorite restaurant in Baddeck! We ate out on the lovely front porch, and as an older couple, we also felt Covid safe! Again, my husband thought this was our best dinner in Nova Scotia, too.More

Thanks to Trip Advisor reviews, we made reservations for dinner three weeks before we would arrive in Baddock, NS on a tour of the Canadian Maritimes. All the rave reviews you are reading here are true. Yes, the crab cakes are delicious (and are served...with a small but mighty good salad), the Divine Soup (this is how the menu describes the Soup du Jour which was Potato and Leek ) is truly divine, and the desserts are awesome. We had Winter in Baddock and Sticky Toffee cake for dessert. We enjoyed them so much that we may order them again tonight, because we made reservations for an early dinner tonight before walking back to our hotel.More

Before you begin the scenic Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia-Enjoy a wonderful meal in the Cable room at the Telegraph House in the town of Baddeck. A farm to table delight! Though it was a warm summer evening, and could have dinned on the balcony,...we opted for the Cable room, decorated from the past. Wth its linen cloths and napkins, but with a cozy feeling...As for the food and drinks- highest of quality! Take your time, and enjoy every little bite...Highly recommend it.More

We thought we would get dinner since we were staying at the motel.. What an expensive mistake! I ordered the pork tenderloin which was very tasty and a perfect serving size for me. My husband ordered the lobster risotto which was the smallest serving I...have ever seen. It was about a half cup of risotto and the tiniest piece of lobster maybe an inch long for $34.00! For another $20.00 he could have gotten a pound of whole lobster. He had to go across the street to a diner to get a burger since he was starving after we had paid $100.00 for the meal and soup, a well drink and a beer.More
