A wonderful establishment located in the beautiful town of Baddeck. We loved everything about the High Wheeler Cafe. The coffee was delicious, the porridge bread exceptional, the pastries heavenly, and the staff friendly and enthusiastic! I recommend ordering the box lunch before heading out for...the day; an added treat as you explore the Cabot Trail. This will be your new go to place in Baddeck.More

Great coffee, lovely pastries and breakfast sandwiches. We had the smoked salmon on bagel and the egg, bacon, lettuce and tomato bagel. They were delicious!

In my humble opinion, this was the best Seafood Chowder we found throughout Novia Scotia and PEI. We had it yesterday for lunch when they gave me the last of the pot. I came back this morning and had it for breakfast and might just...try to see if they have any left for lunch! Apparently it is often sold out before lunchtime. And the biscuits, scones, bread sticks...all worth the trip! Treat yourself!More

Baddeck was a fantastic small town with High Wheeler at the heart. The bread they use makes the sandwiches even more delicious. Quick service if you just want clam chowder or soup and a fresh biscuit. Very busy spot for locals as well.

All food is made on premises with locally sourced ingredients. The bakery provides delicious breads that become the foundations for delicious sandwiches. Our group enjoyed the soup of the day, veggie lentil soup served with a cheddar biscuit from the bakery; a Cuban sandwich on...multigrain “porridge” bread; and a greek salad quesadilla. Diners are welcomed by the owner/operator who helps newcomers navigate the menu and ordering process. We all left well fed, highly satisfied with our choices and happy for supporting a wonderful local restaurant and the very friendly staff operating it.More

We had a pleasant lunch on the patio on a sunny day in August. Not too keen on the visit by a wasp, but I think that comes with the territory.

Had breakfast before driving the Cabot trail. Very good bagels, and the porridge bread was excellent. Scones were enormous. Nice hot breakfast. Had a nice discussion with the owner who gave us great advice about where to dine for dinner.

We stumbled upon the high wheeler cafe and bakery on our first day in the beautiful town of baddeck. A family run business which seems to be the hub of this town and a first stop for many Cabot trailers. The coffee is the best...we’ve had in NS, and the food, particularly the packed lunch box is fresh and a well balanced meal, the poradge bread is renowned, unique and tasty. All the staff have been extremely helpful, friendly and full of knowledge regarding the local and wider area. You’d be mad to miss the opportunity to stop by and taste the delights they have on offer here.More

We had breakfast here on two occasions while we were in Baddeck. We were very satisfied with our meals. We also took advantage of the boxed lunch option which we took with us while exploring the Cabot Trail. On our second visit I had the...bumbleberry pie which was simply amazing. I could have easily had a second piece of that pie. The owner is friendly and welcoming.More

Unfortunately, we stayed in the Telegraph House, which does not offer breakfast, but luckily this wonderful place was right across the street. We ate here 3 days in a row and had an excellent breakfast each time. Although crowded every day, the service was fast....You stand in a short line, order your food, and a waiter brings it to your table. You are safe ordering any of their sandwiches, bagel and egg/bacon breakfast sandwich, or the standard breakfast plate of eggs, bacon, and toast. Excellent coffee, friendly staff that cannot do enough for you. They bake all their own breads and pastries, which are scrumptious! The oat bread toast with breakfast was a meal in itself! Take some apple strudel, scones, cookies, etc. with yiou.More
