Love to do once in a while a take-out and I always order a Fish Burger & Poutine. The fish is delicious and the size of the fish is really worth it.

I came here with my husband while travelling the Cabot trail. The food was pretty good. Nothing overly special, but it’s a local pub and that’s what you should go there for! The live music was great and changes daily from what I saw on...More

Our food was pretty typical fried fish and chips, nothing special. It became quite crowded around 8 pm and we found it difficult to contact our server when we wanted the check.

The Doryman is one of the Cape Breton venues where local Celtic talent regularly plays. The food is above average pub food and the music is fantastic. Find out from your hosts wherever you are staying who might be playing the nights you have available....More

We saw 2 local bands there during our stay (folk & country music). Very friendly people & a good atmosphere. They make a small entry charge when there is live music - not sure if you still have to pay this if you are eating...More

The Doryman Pub was recommended to us by the Maison Fiset House. They called ahead to find out about the music and when we found out that it was going to be "a fiddler" we were delighted. We arrived just after 7 pm for the...More

We arrived around 7:15pm and the place was quiet. We had fish & chips...2 big fillets and fish burger with salad. Everything was beautifully cooked with a light panko crust. As the time came closer to 8pm the crowd started to arrive for the music....More

The ceilidh we attended here was one of the best of our KitchenFest tour of the island. What incredible fiddling, piano and guitar playing. At one point, locals were up and dancing square sets (not to mention step dancing as well). The staff was friendly...More

We were told to stop in by Mary Francis at the hotel in Sydney. We were not disappointed. The people were friendly...the beer selection was great...the Poutine was awesome. Worth a stop. Prices good

An original pub built in 1966 with astonishing view of the harbour and Cheticamp Island. Watch fishing boats or whale tour boats while enjoying a fabulous meal, a cold drink, or listening to one of our raved ceilidhs or live music acts. Many locals eat and/or come for fun at this laid back pub. We hope your experience is up to par, and welcome comments on Tripadvisor...
