A little disappointed because we came at 11:30 and they don’t serve lunch until 12. Saying that , we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches which were okay. We ordered the Biscuit Eater and the Ham and Cheese.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on the outside patio. Wonderful food and charming staff. Their enthusiasm and friendliness more than made up for coffee needing to be brewed and a bit of a line-up to pay.

Stopped in to see if I could find a book of local historical fiction. The salesperson was friendly and helpful and I left with a book to read on the beach.

Food was good, atmosphere very inviting, some of items were a little pricy considering there was not much time spent on serving. Could be great place with minor improvements.

This place is a hidden gem. It is not directly on the water like other touristy restaurants, but rather just tucked behind. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a host and servers. They were so patient with our questions and...More

Deliciious, simple, original lunch, sandwiches on homemade scones, interesting seating among bookshelves, with little nooks and crannies to browse

We love dogs! Because of food regulations they can't come inside the restaurant but are more than welcome on our big patio 😊

Hi - We just saw your question on Trip Advisor. Yes, all of our sandwich specials can be made with gluten free bread, and we have various other gluten free options as well. We're open all year round. Thanks!

Description
The Biscuit Eater is a friendly community cafe and bookstore serving homemade, handmade goodness in Mahone Bay's oldest building. Fresh baked buttermilk biscuits, locally roasted coffee, stacks of cookies and baked treats, delicious soups, sandwiches and daily specials are all made with care daily by new owners Jessika and Chris and our talented chef Laurie Zwicker. Take a seat by the hearth in a cozy chair, have lunch in the library, grab a snack to go, or visit with old and new friends in the common room - here the warmth of community is alive, well, and waiting to welcome you. We are accessible, family friendly, inclusive and open to all our neighbours from our oldest customer (98!) to biscuit babies. Our new winter hours are Monday - Saturday from 9-4, keep your eye on our Facebook page for evening events, markets, and workshops. We are also available to host your special events, weddings, and creative retreats, contact us with your ideas and collaborations!
