We had high hopes for this place as the menu was well written and everything sounded good. Unfortunately each dish had a fatal flaw in it. My mom and sister ordered the black Rock burger and it was mediocre. It was nothing special but the...More

Cozy spot in an older space in really old Parrsboro. Very friendly, service-oriented staff. Owner David also owns Gillespie House, an excellent small inn in Parrsboro into which we had checked a few hours earlier, and despite being very busy, he recognized us and took...More

Had a steak dinner here and the meat was locally grown grass fed beef. Organic fresh vegetables as well very tasty and the meat was very tender. The owner comes out and greets us and explains the food on our plate which was very nice....More

I really enjoyed the seafood chowder and the pan seared scallops and a lovely local wine. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something out of the ordinary.

I visited this restaurant after hearing the recommendations of four other travellers who visited two nights in a row. It did not disappoint. The blackened haddock on jasmine rice was absolutely delicious. My friend raved about the chowder and the flourless chocolate cake. The service...More

We hit this restaurant on a busy night. The service was great but the food was only alright. A little overpriced for what you got.

This is a very good restaurant. No real distinctives; it's a bistro. Small and cozy. Pretty good food as far a fine dining goes. You'll pay more than any of the other places in town, but this is not a fried fish joint either, so...More

We both had the seafood chowder which was full of chunks of lobster, scallops, and fish, plus potatoes, onions and carrots in a yummy broth. Then I had the maple glazed scallops with bacon - they were superb. My husband had the mussels in a...More

Not sure why your bowl of chowder was lacking seafood. Here is a comment from one of our recent guests "We both had the seafood chowder which was full of chunks of lobster, scallops, and fish, plus potatoes, onions and carrots in a yummy broth".
