Stopped here for supper after a long drive - it's quite decent for being a little out of the way. I really enjoyed he scallops with risotto. Very creamy. My wife's arctic char was okay. The kids enjoyed the Mediterranean chicken. A little pricey but...More

This place was recommended by several locals. We went and I was excited to see a vegetarian option on the menu! The waitress must have been new because she was so nervous. (We wanted to pull her aside and tell her she was doing just...More

We are sorry that you felt rushed. We try to read our guests and pace the meal accordingly, it really depends on what they order. Obviously our staff misread your intentions and we apologize or that. I do appreciate your comment about the Tika Misala...More

We enjoyed a meal here last weekend. We were greeted and promptly seated with a nice window view. Service was fast and friendly. We both had fish, the blackened haddock and the surf special. The fish was prepared nicely, not overcooked and with a light...More

Enjoyed a great meal. This cozy restaurant had lots of healthy choices and would be perfect for a couples night out. Service was great! Didn't wait long for food at all. Would definitely return!

Nice wine list. We started off with the Spinach Artichoke dip. Delicious and with their own unique twist. My wife then had the Seared Scallops and creamy rissotto with spinach, chillies, and pine nuts while I had the Blackened Haddock with jasmine rice and black...More

Don't even think about going here if you have a young child! From the moment we walked into the door we knew we were not wanted with our young four month daughter. The hostess ran up to us asking if we had a reservation and...More

Wow, not sure how our offer to find a place for you to wait until there was an empty table was misinterpreted as not wanting to serve a family with a baby. We ask all guests if they have a reservation to ensure that people...More

Don't like Tim's or family restaurants? The Blackrock Bistro is a very nice option. Attentive service, nice selection, decent local wine list, a few small tables outside.

Food was ok! Portions are small and chowder is scarce on seafood. Not particularly kid friendly food.

Not sure what size portions you expect as most of our guests find the portions are generous size, but everyone is different. While we are not a "family " restaurant, our chef is always willing to make a special meal for children if asked.

My wife and I ate lunch there today and it is very comparable to the food in the top restaurants in Halifax at about half the price. Both my wife and I had the Asian chicken sandwich. Very tasty and flavourful. Just the right amount...More

We both ate a roasted vegetable and local Gouda panini, it came with a choice of salads. The corn and black bean was great, needed a little more seasoning. But it was only $8! Great presentation and service.
