My wife and I were staying in nearby Archer's Edge glamping and had dinner both Friday and Saturday night. We booked ahead which is a good idea as it is a popular place. The food is very delicious and the menu varied to suit all...tastes. The service was super friendly. Friday night the food came after 40 minutes but Saturday was much quicker for some reason. We really enjoyed the overall dining experience and recommend anyone nearby to drop in .More

There are not many options in Port Hood but that is fine when you have the Clove Hitch. With the pandemic restrictions I imagine it was not as lively as usual but it still seemed very popular. Our dinners were great right down to the...edible flowers. We had the lobster linguine and the haddock. They were both competently done. The bottle of Tidal Bay was very good. The service was friendly and the place seemed popular with local people.More

We ended up at the Clove Hitch because it was just about the only place open on a weekday during the pandemic, but we were very happy with our meals and the service. Pub food with flair and an emphasis on fresh ingredients.

I would definitely eat here again. Food was fantastic, service was great. They do have a kids’ menu and are welcoming to children. I had the lobster linguini and it was excellent. Good choice of local craft beer and cocktails.

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today before going to the beach in port hood! It was an awesome lunch, we both got the crispy chicken burgers & they were delicious! We are from Halifax and we are big crispy chicken burger fans,...and it can be hard to find a good one, but this place nailed it! Our server was also great Great experience, will definitely be back again soonMore

We were invited to attend a special birthday/anniversary celebration at this lovely venue where they featured a special evening to present and thank local food sources from our area. It was a 7 course meal and to say it was delicious would not do it...justice. It was our first experience here but definitely won't be our last. The food presentation was unbelievable and every course featured food that was purchased from local growers and producers. The chef and his team came out at first to welcome everyone and explain what the evening was about and introduce the local producers who were in attendance and to thank them for their products. Each plate was magnificently presented and served efficiently by the wait staff. Such a variety and exquisite tastes! After the meal was served the chef made a point of coming to every table to speak with the guests and also came out with the sous chefs to thank everyone and give a few teasers of what the future presentations may entail. There was also local craft beer on tap and wonderful music by the talented Doris Mason. This restaurant is open daily with a regular menu and a delightful gift shop and also has outdoor patio dining when weather permits. We will definitely be coming back many times in the future for the special events and to taste the regular offerings on the menu.More

Local Hwy 19 spot much hyped that failed to deliver Very good appetizer and service but Poor main entrees The fish was overcooked (inexcusable for Any restaurant in a fresh fish locale) and the pasta chicken was previously cooked and reheated, also inexcusable in a...restaurant that supposedly prides itself on Fresh Local foodMore

Disappointing for sure. Sorry this was your experience. I have discussed with our team.

It is mid-level dining. Food is excellent at a fair price. It is a local scene and a little noisy. Local musician played guitar covering rock standards.

We went for lunch when we arrived. Service was awesome, waitress friendly and helpful. Most importantly the seafood chowder rocked. Hot, large chunks of fresh fish, shrimp and scallops served with a nice warm tea biscuit made my day. Highly recommend.
