I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy breakfast at Bijoys. It is without a doubt the best eggs Benedict in town. You can taste the hollandaise is made from scratch. The loose tea is lovely. Just a perfect atmosphere. I can’t say enough...good things about BijoysMore
The wine and the desert were great The muddy salmon overcooked, with a gelatinous piece of skin. Cold vegetables. Patrones seated too close for COVID safety. Service was slow. No compensation was offered. So changed!. Won't be going back.
This cozy restaurant, situated in a heritage home, seats just 26 people, so unless your group is bigger than that, you don't need to look any further for a gathering spot in downtown Aurora. Bijoy and Sujata are chefs with 30 years of experience in...5-star hotels, trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, and this shows in the menu and amazing quality of their dishes. This was a first visit for us as we are not often in the Aurora area, but rest assured, it's now our go-to place whenever we have the opportunity. We were there with a group of 15. Some in our group ordered the soup du jour, which was declared excellent. Some ordered the tikka masala (chicken or vegetarian), some butter chicken (including my husband), and one ordered the salmon with mango salsa (me). Everything was fantastic - absolutely no complaints. One couple even ordered two boxes of tikka masala to take away since it was so good and they had a long drive home afterwards. Desserts were all fabulous. In addition to the semifreddo (ordered by me) and the chocolate lava (ordered by a few), the pavlova, the chefs' signature dessert, was devoured by those who selected it. My cousin declared herself "almost defeated" as the pavlova was huge and could easily have been shared by four. Pavlova is difficult to get right (I've tried making it myself twice), and Bijoy's was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. And the lunch-time prices were very reasonable given the quality of the food. Service was good and very friendly. They also have an extensive tea menu, as well as coffee and alcohol (wine and beer).More
First off let me say prior to COVID I have dined here numerous times and always enjoyed my meal and have recommended the restaurant to people I know. We missed Bijoys so we decided to order take out given how much we enjoyed our dinners...in the past we were excited. Our entrees were $15.00 each the portions were ridiculously small for that price. They were the size of a loblaws frozen dinner for one which means two of us had to make sandwiches after out take out dinner to fill up. In the case of my shrimp curry the loblaws version would have been better. I think these meals may have been frozen and reheated. Bijoys may have had an off night but they need to step up the portions and quality. For the same price as one entree I could feed two with one order from shawarmaland.More
Our experience with takeout meals during the COVID crisis has not been great. However, our meal from Bijoy’s bucked the trend: it was great!
I ordered the lamb rack and had a conversation with the waitress about how I wanted it cooked, explaining that not all places medium rare is the same as others. I wanted it pink in the middle. It came blue throughout over half of it...(blue is cool to the touch, not heated at all), very rare to the edge, with 1mm of pink at the very edge. The waitresses face dropped when I showed it to her. She got a plate and asked me to scrape the meat onto it to take back... um no thanks, take the hole thing. The cook came out and couldn't talk she was so sick (laryngitis plus who knows what). She convinced me to try the filet mignon. I pointed with the fork to the pink area on the lamb and said that I would like the middle of the filet like that. The filet (sliced into 4 thin pieces) also came out blue throughout, not a spec of red on it. There was literally one tablespoon of rice pilaf on the plate (I did not eat any on the lamb plate). I picked up a hamburger on the way home. To be fair, they comp'ed my wife's meal (as they should have) and my appetizer and one drink each. My wife's duck was done very nicely. A good friend had heard that I was going there to celebrate my birthday and purchased a gift card for me. The owner would not accept a return on the gift card as I do not want to go there again. This was our first visit and we will look forward to returning. The food was excellent, well presented and very healthy. The atmosphere was quiet and cosy. Parking is available behind the restaurant although I don’t think they provide for handicap needs as the bathrooms...are upstairs. I searched the best restaurants in Aurora/Newmarket, and this one came up as one of the best in 20. Again, it is small so I would not recommend you go with a group rather, 2 to 4 people.More

Very nice place and small. The food is great! But just a little pricey. You have to use washrooms upstairs so if your not able to go upstairs not a good idea for you. Other than that things were perfect.

My favourite here in Aurora. The food is excellent and so are the experienced chefs that prepare it. It’s a little bit Mediterranean but with a bit of spice to enhance flavours. Small place so not recommended for groups larger than 4.

All good! The meal, the ambience,the service! This is not a place that you would find by accident. A friend who lives in the town reserved a table for us.
We had lunch here the other day. The food was delicious and the portions right. I had the creme brulee for dessert, worth dying for. Mr Bijoy came to chat and he said this was made with molasses and coconut, no diary....it melted in my...mouth. The place is classy and neat and completely different to any other eatery in Newmarket/ Aurora.More
My first time for lunch (outside of a high tea done there years ago), and I was DELIGHTED with the service, food and company. This must be a well hidden secret as I LIVE in Aurora, and never thought to go there. I had out...of town visitors and wanted to do something local that is not a franchise. Trip Advisor showed me the "top 10' restaurants for lunch and BIJOY was #1. I had the chicken madras special and it sure was delicious! If you are looking for a cozy, unique, reasonably priced and delicious lunch, make a reservation and be prepared to be JOYFUL!More
