Always nice to find a good restaurant close to the theatre (especially in view of the temperature outside which was not conducive to a long walk). We were a little early but seated immediately. The wait staff were very patient, coming back several times while we decided on what to order. Service was quick and very pleasant and the food was excellent with good sized portions. Would return the next time we are in Orangeville. Free parking right beside the restaurant and a short to Theatre Orangeville to see Early Morning Rain.

We went on a weekday for a late lunch with 7 friends. Their patio is very comfortable, lots of shade by 1:00 p.m.
The server had no problem doing separate bills for our group. Their lunches were a fair price, anywhere from $16-20.
Their fish and chips were excellent, penne pasta delicious and their sticky toffee pudding dessert was excellent.
My only criticism is their beer was not cold enough, we all had a different brand of drought, and we all agreed that we wished it was colder. Wine drinkers were happy with their drinks, and all prices of drinks were reasonable.
The server was efficient, friendly and knew the menu well, and was able to help us with our food choices.
We definitely would recommend it to our friends.

We visited here 2 times in March. Once for snacks after a production at Theatre Orangeville and the other time we had dinner before a show.
Each time it was with a group of 8 people and all were pleased with their food choices.
The onion rings were the hit each time.
The menu had lots of choices and all items were nicely prepared and presented.
We would certainly go back.

I dropped by with my son to have an early dinner, we asked the server about couple of items on the menu and she answered Chicken and waffle is great and fish and chips is the best item on the menu!!
Our food arrived strangely very fast !!! Soon we found out why the chicken was okay and maybe just about average ( my son wanted to be nice ) the waffles were soggy and terrible!
The fish and chips was even worse , soggy and most likely microwaved and the fries were even worse.
I did not want to make a big deal about this and make may son uncomfortable but the right thing should have been to send both plates back.
We ate as much as we could, paid and get out of there but I feel we should have let them know.
Very very poor quality food and an extremely dishonest waitress.
Do not recommend this place.

We were there with a large group of friends. Our server, Monika, was wonderful. My first complaint would be that when telling us what specials for the evening are, they should also mention the price for each afterwards. My husband and I both ordered the pasta special which was described as shrimp linguini with a pesto sauce, shrimp, peppers and cherry tomatoes. There was a total of 3 shrimp (medium sized) mixed in with the pasta. The tails were still on (not great to have to pick them out with your fingers to remove tails). The portion size was also very small. We did not order an appetizer because usually we're quite full from having a pasta dish. This was absolutely not the case. When the bill came, we were shocked that it was $25.00 each. My husband had more to eat when we got home. I realize the restaurant industry is hurting from the pandemic but this is simply just a rip-off for the customer. Will definitely never be back. We made the drive from Brampton just to try this restaurant. Very disappointing.

A nice early New Years Eve Experience, enjoyed/shared the Chopped Salad, a blend of tasty items, followed by the Stuff chicken full of spinach & cheese, nicely done, the linguine could of had more flavour, touch of mushroom/peppers maybe, & a offering of grated cheese, which we had to ask for, certainly big portion, good choice. Maybe the restaurant should offer a crusty bread slice with this dish or just on table for enjoyment.
We each had 9 ounce glass of Vidal white wine, a good pour from the bar, much enjoyed.
Service was good, not great, couple errors made by server, no big deal, but just didn’t get the vibe for a “impressive service”

This wonderful restaurant is a hidden gem in town. During COVID, to help support local, we often ordered takeout from the BVR. Service was amazing, portion sizes were great and the food was delicious. When the patios opened we took friends there for the first time and they were very impressed. The patio set up is comfortable and inviting, the staff is friendly and welcoming and to top it off the service and food top notch. We had the most pleasant evening visiting with friends and enjoying a great patio experience. Looking forward to many more BVR patio nights!

This was such a bad restaurant we named it our worst by far of all of 2024
Here are some reasons why:
Very unfriendly staff, waitress was miserable and seemed untrained.
Food was bland no seasoning and small portions
Food was overpriced on top of that.
And they charge for mushrooms and Ketchup
Don't waste your money here.

Service was very good. Very few customers. However, we found this place to be extremely expensive. We ordered 2 soups, 1 order of wings (8), and 1 macaroni & cheese entree, 1 soft drink and 1 glass of wine. All came to $71.00 - before tip. Sorry, but this is out of our league.

Met another couple for lunch at this converted RR station and were able to get a patio table in the sun. Food was fine, service was good but we were all bothered by many bees/hornets/etc. I was stung on the hand and 48 hours later, my hand is still swollen. There are traps for these insects and if this is a common condition, it should be dealt with.

Excellent food. Hard to decide what to have. Went for lunch had some great cocktails. Best onions rings I’ve ever had. Fish and chips were great as was the beef. Parking right next door which is how we found it. Will be back!

The Barley Vine Rail Company was a fabulous venue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our high school graduation. The ambiance, service and food were all top-notch.........all of us had a terrific experience.

We are long time fans of BVR, especially staple dishes like the big burger and the short rib. We just had the new tuna poke bowls and they were super lack luster. Really plain. Quinoa is a terrible choice as the base. Missing many key ingredients like seaweed salad, edamame, and a high quality soy drizzle. Had better from Sobey’s.
