We had a wonderful patio lunch at this lovely restaurant. The service was excellent and timely. They have a great selection of wines and liquor. But the food is authentic and freshly made. We had an assortment of appetizers that we shared, carpaccio, calamari, salad,...and pizza. All were delicious and I am very, very picky. You can’t go wrong here. Thank you for a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back!More
First time visit to the 255 for all of us. The overall consensus was that it was a great place, good ambiance, excellent food and service. Meals varied from pasta dishes, gnocchi, penne, to lamb chops (delicious). Starters like beef marrow bone to polenta fries....Well worth the visit when in the Vaughan Mills area. We will return the next time we are in the area visiting family.More
We had a late lunch on the patio. The ambiance is good and tables are well arranged. We ordered veg pizza, sea food linguine and ravioli in rose sauce. The food was good. Some of the staff could try to be friendlier though.
I have been a 255 regular for over 20 years. I have hosted many of my company's Christmas Holiday parties with Alta Rosa as well as been a regular diner at their old address as well as at their new one.
The food and service...are consistently wonderful. Yesterday we decided to do take out for our New Year's Eve dinner - everything was perfect - pizza, pasta, calamari, chicken parmesan.
This is a family owned and run restaurant that knows their Italian cuisine.More
Wonderful night out at an amazing authentic Italian restaurant! Thank you Pat for another fantastic dinner ! The service was exceptional and the food just perfect! Grilled Tuna & Zuppa di Pesce were both out of this world 😍😍Call and reserve a table today! Does...not disappoint 🥰More
255 is mediocre at best. The quality of their "Italian" food, does not meet the standards of a true Italian Restaurant. I began my meal with an app of pizza and fried calamari. The pizza had a sour tasting tomato sauce -- not a nice...Italian sauce. The calamari were good if you like your food on the salty side. Most people probably would not appreciate the amount of salt used but for me they were o.k. My main of spaghetti carbonara was extremely disappointing. I make this dish at home and it is 10x better than that at 255. The pasta itself was overcooked and sticky while the carbonara aspect was not traditional at all. There was no true carbonara flavour but rather a heaping amount of black pepper. The atmosphere and service is good but the quality of food is not up to expectations.More
After many months of isolation we finally managed to get back with our very dear friends for dinner, 6 of us visited the patio of 255, the day was another record high but the patio was well covered (and so were all the staff! Thank...You) for anything Mother Nature could throw at us. We started with drinks of course to quickly be followed by a few more, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, we started with some amazing appetizers, grilled calamari- perfect!, polenta fries- by far the best, and a margarita pizza- mmmm buffalo mozzarella. Never at any time we’re we rushed, which is so nice too see today. Then we ordered our mains, ranging from there amazing pastas to there lamb chops and chicken parmigiana, you really can’t go wrong with any menu item.
Now, if your in a rush I would suggest informing your server when you arrive as dining typically isn’t rushed which I personally totally agree.
Thanks Patricia, amazingMore
I have eaten here 4-5 times on my own at the bar. Well decorated Dining room and food is excellent. Always at least a third full even early in the week. Service can be slow so if you need to eat and get going not...your spot but good value with Chicken Supreme, Stracciatella Soup and Caesar Salad all good. Good Wine list. I always go when I am in Vaughan.More
I can’t remember such a delectable meal! Polenta fries, lobster spaghetti, calamari and chocolate molten lava cake with a nice bottle of red wine. It was all so delish!
Our server was nice but the place was packed and he was rushed and somewhat abrupt....Talked really fast and just a little too frenzied for my liking which taints the experience on the whole. Perhaps they were simply short staffed. Not a deal breaker, we will be going back to try the truffle rigatoni.More
