Three meals, three people who loved their dish. The view of rolling Lake Ontario waves was an added bonus.

An amazing place to eat! We had lunch there, spectacular view! Service was excellent! A great way to start our visit to PEC. You can take a walk on the shore, they’ll send you off with a hot coffee to go!

Absolutely stunning views of Lake Ontario whilst eating amazing home cooked food served by lovely friendly people. Would recommend their gorgeous breakfast whilst watching the sun rising over the lake. Could not fault a single thing about this place.

We visited during a September weekend, and had very mixed experiences. We first went for a birthday brunch, and were horrified by the service we received. Our food took 1.5 hours to arrive, was lukewarm, but more than anything we were frustrated by our waitresses...response who brushed us off and was quite rude. Really shocking, especially as we had reserved brunch as a birthday treat for someone in our group. Worst of all is that it did not appear particularly busy so the delay was quite confusing. The only positive was the incredible view over the lake. That said, we did return for drinks in the evening and had the completely opposite experience. We sat at the bar and had delicious cocktail after delicious cocktail. The bartender who served us was friendly, quick, and helpful and even made some custom drinks when we shared our favourite flavours and taste profile. We had so much fun and finished with great pictures in the photo booth. Really two different experiences - I think if our waitress had been better in the morning, we could have been more patient and would have enjoyed the brunch, especially if the food was more prompt. All to say great venue and location, great cocktails, but some staff leave much to be desired.More

So disappointed in our dinner. Brought family in from overseas to PEC and the view is the ONLY thing that was perfect. The dinners were so overpriced, for the quality of food that was delivered. I was really embarrassed and had to apologize for choosing...the restaurant when we finished the meal. Small sized Bolognese pasta, small steak, with the plate over flowing with fries and the schnitzel was under whelming. If your wondering if you want to dine here; when you ask your waitstaff what Tabbouleh is (which is served with lamb done two ways $45 dollars) and they state “I don’t know let’s google it”. That is basically the vibe you’re getting visiting the Drake, I don’t know, eat something, we don’t care about the menu or quality of our food, hey it’s the county & we are the Drake pay up and move on…… FYI: Locals support you in off season, do better as we can support other amazing business’ as we live the “view” year long!More

went for the style, should've gone for the food - fish and chips, not good - fish dry and overcooked, batter flat and not crispy, fries wet, caesar salad wet. flavourless and confusing. The room is beautiful though. Maybe go for a drink

I came here for dinner and honestly, the food was very underwhelming. Little flavour and felt very lazy. All three people in my party were disappointed, especially with the roasted octopus. It was the tiniest and most overcooked portion drowned in a kale salad. We...had significantly tastier and more elevated meals from food trucks in the area. However, the cocktails and drinks were delicious and the view is one of the best in the area. I recommend coming here just for a beverage and atmosphere and then heading to less overrated restaurants for your meal. Also, prepare for a very long wait for a table.More

Stopped in on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy. Although there was plenty of seating, the kitchen was at capacity. We appreciated the upfront honesty and put our name on the list to receive a text when they were ready to seat us. This gave...us time to explore the grounds and some of the shops in Wellington. We had a cocktail and brunch on the patio. It felt like we were out of country with the view of the lake, the sound of the waves, and the laid back vibe. The food arrived quickly and it was plentiful. Service was pleasant. The hotel and grounds are so very cute and unique.More

The food was very much average and nothing exciting at all. The salmon benedict was decent but literally none of our food was seasoned. The chai matcha latte was ok but tasted like frothed chocolate milk. The menu could definitely use some work in diversity...especially for vegetarian and glutenfree options. Restaurant was meh. View was awesome and the customer service was average. This place is alwags Packed because of the view and definitely not the food.More

We celebrated a wedding anniversary here with dinner on the beautiful patio overlooking Lake Ontario. This place is popular with good reason. In the summer on weekends bookings fill up fast, but we knew the date we wanted and booked online when bookings open exactly...30 days prior. Don't plan to walk up on a Saturday night and expect to get a table right away, like another angry patron did while we were checking in. The staff are very attentive. There is an extensive wine list both by the glass and bottle and is a great opportunity to try some older local vintages that are not currently sold at the wineries. Both our entrees were well thought out and executed perfectly. The lamb and arctic char were both done to perfection and the sides, especially the tabloueh were outstanding. Delicious desserts, especially the hazelnut chocolate tart. Looking forward to coming back, they change the menu seasonally. Not outrageously priced either for the quality and the ambiance.More

Long anticipated dining experience for our final evening in the area. We had the raw oysters, the gazpacho, the eggplant entree, the bison bolognese, and the lobster roll ($33.-). They charge $8 for bread. The service was variable, from “I’m rolling my eyes waiting for...your order” to “perfunctory.” The atmosphere was worldly but ruined by loud notes ranging from Led Zeppelin to Muzak. The food (oysters and eggplant excepted) was bland, unremarkable, and poor value for money.More

My wife, baby (11 months) and I stayed at the Drake for a few nights following our wedding as a “family moon” and the team all went above and beyond to make it overly special. Alexis in particular was so fantastic in making this the...best stay possible, so I want to give her a huge shoutout. When we wanted to sit out on the beach during nap time they sat with the monitor and came to get us when the baby woke up. Another key moment was Alexis lighting the other outdoor fire which was closer to our room. This was so perfect because the monitor was just in range and we could enjoy a drink outside while still in range. Speaking of drinks, Max makes incredible ones at the bar and is so knowledgeable to help make the best choice. They really did everything to go the extra mile. Will be going back again and againMore

I'm a little embarrassed to have lived so close to this absolute gem of a restaurant and never having tried it before. My GF and I decided to head out to the county, about a 30 minute drive, to check out this restaurant as we've...heard so much about it. Upon arrival we were blown away at the location. They have a million dollar view here. We were seated in the main dining room against the window overlooking Lake Ontario. They deserve to charge a premium just for the view. Our server was absolutely the best server we've ever had, she was a young woman, I believe her name was Haley. The bill said 'Williams' on it so maybe the surname? She was so full of energy it was absolutely refreshing to deal with her. She gave us suggestions for dinner as we'd never been there so we decided on the Duck Wings as an app, then Beef Tenderloin and Arctic Char for the main course. She was right on with those suggestions. The Duck Wings were a near perfect balance of sweet and sour, fatty and meaty goodness. I would order again in a heartbeat. The Beef Tenderloin was to die for, it literally melted in your mouth. The Arctic Char was a pleasant surprise as well. Hayley even mentioned their Char is caught in Lake Ontario and is fresh. My only regret was not ordering dessert, we just were too full for a dessert but we saw a couple desserts on the nest table over and they looked amazing. This restaurant is the perfect combination of ambience, gorgeous view, amazing staff and delicious food. I wish I had tried this place a long time ago. It will be on our regular rotation now though for sure. Thanks Drake for a great evening!!!.More
