We were 11 ladies celebrating 40 years of meeting monthly for lunch. 8 of us stayed overnight. The rooms were comfortable, bright, well designed, and the bathrooms in the new section were outstanding. The service we received was specialized. We were catered to for dinner,...breakfast and lunch as a group of important guests. The continental breakfast went over our expectations. The anniversary lunch was charming. We ordered off the menu and everything was delicious. We had asked for a celebration cake and were served a triple chocolate cheesecake decorated with a big 40 candle. When we asked for the payment to be split between our bills, we were told no, the cake is on the house. We were flabbergasted. It was clearly an expensive cake. We had such a good time that someone said why wait until our 45 anniversary to do this again, let’s do it next year. A huge thank you to Maureen for her warm and personalized service. A shout out to Eric and Meghan, the musicians at the evening meal, for sets that were all songs we knew. I don’t know about the others, but I sang along.More

The view on the patio is fine. That's why we go , on occasion. It is not for the food which is quite ordinary at best and sometimes quite poor. All in all, menu and meal are just bland and unremarkable. It's a pity as...we like the place. With better meals we'd be back more oftenMore

We were seated indoors due to a rainy evening and the outdoor wasn’t open for service. But the sun came out and we were able to enjoy the view. Nice menus with generous portions. Caesar salad was great and our shrimp Linguini was enough for...two meals.More

I have visited the Cove for decades off and on (started as the Tweedsmuir). In fact my family in the area we well known and often visited with me and on their own. It was a fun fun place in the past. Always had good...food and beer. In June 2023, I stopped in for a beer and to order food. I ordered two dishes, got 1, the server says, "oh it isn't in there" Like in the food with the fish. I requested more tarter for which I am happy to pay, got 1, so I was ignored. The beer was good. It was busy that day, but I feel no excuse for not paying attention. The fish was ok but the batter reminded me of Captain Highliner. I probably will go back but I feel the servers, although very polite, need some instruction in customer service. The poppers were awesome tho.More

We had the pleasure of meeting for lunch as a large group of 20 seated at two large tables.. our server Larissa was an absolute gem, she was kind & patient as we all ordered our drinks & meals. The fish & chips plate was...very good, we would only mention the fish wasn’t as crispy cooked for all who ordered; but most likely due to the amount cooked at the same time for our party, the oil temp would be affected. In future we would order ahead for some precooked meals to avoid this but I enjoyed mine :) The homemade soup was good & the sweet potato fries were delicious!! I would go back just for them! Thanks again to our sweet server Larissa, she’s a keeper ;)More

The curry lamb soup to start was one of the best soups I have had anywhere - and that is saying a lot inasmuch as I have tried soups in more than forty countries. My main course (a Thai chicken concoction) was good as was...the daily special my wife had. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices reasonable. The least expensive wine on the menu (a pinot grigio) proved to pair well with the food. We were there for the entertainment and were glad we stayed for the entire performance - it was fun. (The server ensured that we were not driving after we ordered some more wine - that was a nice touch.) We stayed in one of their more expensive rooms that had been nicely refurbished. (We had stayed in the same room some years ago before it was re-done). Since COVID they have not had the breakfast in the dining room, but after the meal the night before a continental breakfast in our room's refrigerator was sufficient. A cautionary note - all rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator.More

The patio was lovely, our server and the staff were very friendly and courteous and of course it is set in the quaint village of Westport which doesn't hurt. However I have to say, that the food was extremely disappointing. All the courses arrived luke...warm to cold, soggy, or drenched in over-sweet sauces. I don't mind pup food but it wasn't even good pub food. We were unable to eat most of our lunch it was that poor. I hate to leave a review like this but this place needs a lot of work and for the $65 cheque just for lunch ,with no alcohol, we expected much more than what we received. Very disappointing.More

My friends and I celebrated their wedding anniversary by dining at the Cove. She ordered the spinach, walnut & pear salad with shrimp; he the eggplant Parmesan and I the stuffed chicken from the main dinners menu. Our meals were well presented, steaming hot (not...the salad) and delicious! They ordered the chocolate brownie sundae and rhubarb pie for dessert. The waitress was pleasant and accurate, despite her heavy workload. It was a lovely evening to dine out on the patio, serenaded by Sam Wilson and his guitar.More

We made reservations the previous day as this is a very busy place. People were lined up only to be turned away. It's almost unbelievable how hard all the staff works. We had Aleks as our server and she was always happy, smiling going from...table to table. My husband and I shared the nachos to start. Best we have ever eaten. Cheese on every layer with salsa and sour cream on the side. I also ordered a small pear salad which was very tasty but I was too full from the nachos to do it justice. My husband ordered the turkey cheddar sandwich which he really liked but could only eat half. Lesson learned for next time. The only downside were the many many wasps. Still, highly recommend.More

We called last minute desperate for a room to stay in ( our booked cottage vacation turned out to be a disaster ). Seamus the manager took my call, informed us of a cancelation, said he would take care of us - and this he...did. When we arrived 20 mins later he heard our story, apologized for someone else's mistake and assured us he would personally see to us having an amazing stay. After checking in, we mentioned the live music we could hear and how hungry we were, a server that overheard us said that she would have us a table ready by the time we finished taking our belongings to our room. Few mins later they showed us to our table, the local music guest was great, our apps, mains drinks and dessert were all AMAZING! Trust me when I say try the maple brie app and you have to do their carrot cake for dessert - to die for. The room we had was very unique - beautiful rustic charm room with new modern crisp clean bathroom. The huge walk in glass shower was what jealousy is made of! The bed was awesome, big and high and a great night's sleep was well received! So refreshing!! It was so comforting that in a time of such desperation ( walking out of a horrible cottage rental on a long weekend ) that the folks at the Cove Inn made it such an enjoyable experience in the end. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!More
