Every aspect of the feast was a delightful culinary adventure! The culinary farmer, Kevin, packed a great deal of important information into his presentation, and shared Chef Smith’s philosophy that set the context for our meal. We tried to pace ourselves, but the four appetizer...More

As other reviewers have detailed, this is a farm-to-table gastronomic event unlike anything else I've ever experienced. A casually elegant evening begins with what is called a "farm tour" but is really a vegetable and herb garden tour that is informative and sets the stage...More

Starting with the farm tour really explored the connection of farm to table. The food was fabulous. The staff really enjoyed being there and sharing their experience with you. Met wonderful people from all over enjoying the evening.

As with everything and everyplace, there are good and bad. The Inn at Bay Fortune and Michael Smith’s fire feast are mostly good. And while you may or may not do it more than once, the first time was something we won’t forget. The Inn...More

This farm to fork restaurant deserves its awards. Chef Michael Smith has organized a small group of young chefs into a very creative experience. From Farmer Kevin who proudly tours the group around the farm through the appetizer stations - tacos, sausage, smoked salmon, to...More

Last night was my third meal at the Inn at Bay Fortune since they opened the Fireworks Feast. The first was before the official opening and the second a year or two later. Those meals were definitely five star meals. The Inn has since expanded...More

Absolutely fabulous. The rooms. The property. And, oh, the food. Beyond delicious. After an hour of appetizers, a six course meal. And homemade marshmallows after that on an open fire. I thought I couldn’t eat anymore but I inhaled breakfast. It was too good to...More

I was here with my wife and 12 year old son for dinner on a Thursday evening in August. The very light rain did nothing to dampen our experience - it was wonderful. Starting with a tour of the farm (the vision for this restaurant...More

Description
FireWorks is both the name of our restaurant and the 25 foot brick-lined, wood-burning, fire-breathing beast from where we prepare and present our Feast, every night. It features every form of live-fire cooking known to man including a smokehouse, open hearth, grill, rotisserie, plancha and oven. No dials, no switches just old-school/Farmhouse cooking. It's a dream come true for us and our chefs' brigade is proud to share the Inn's wide variety of flavours with you! Proprietors Chef Michael Smith and his wife Chastity Smith are proud to welcome you to their end of the island. For Michael, coming back to the Inn is a return to his roots as a chef. For seven years in the 1990’s, he manned the stoves here, finding his culinary voice and bringing international fame to a sleepy country inn. For Chastity, being an innkeeper allows her to share her Maritime roots, stylish design flair and love of entertaining with you and your family. Together they’ve graciously re-launched the Inn with a brand new spirit of hospitality and their shared goal of becoming one of the world’s leading culinary tourism destinations. Michael is a Canadian superstar chef with an international reputation for simple, sustainable home cooking. He is the author of 10 cookbooks and has starred in 5 different Food Network series. Michael's cooking shows are seen in more than 100 different countries around the world.
