I wanted to have lobster, but in Cardigan the restaurants are limited and worst you must have a reservation everwhere. This restaurant is a very old building and honestly not very pretty not to say ugly. If not for the good reviews, I'm not sure...I would have gone in. Well I'm glad I did. The actual restaurant is at the back and is also old and not so pretty but it's clean. The front pub is closed. You could eat outside on a patio but I would not recommend due to flies and mosquitos as it's by a creek. Long story short, the food was excellent ! Everything including the salad dressing is homemade and fresh. The 5 course lobster meal was a deal for 55$ for Chowder, salad, mussells, lobster w/baked potato and veggies plus desert. Great price, good portion, everything was very tasty. Excellent service from friendly staff. Dress casually. Call to reserve ahead as availability is limited.More

So nice to be able to go to a Buffet again! Can't say I love lobster, but the buffet was amazing! Something for everyone. And eventhough it was Crazy busy, the staff have a great system that runs very smoothly!

We had party of 10. All but two had the lobster either three course or five course. All raved on that selection. I had steak and added a full lobster. Both so good.

We received the best seafood that we have experienced. The scallops were by far a "melt in your mouth" experience. The Lobster and muscles were also above our expectations. Our five day stay, resulted in us going three times. Most of all the staff were...friendly and loved to talk to us about PEI. What a treat it was!!!!!More

What an amazing find, me and my wife stopped in here to grab a bite on the way through site seeing and we so amazed by the food and awesome service. The waitress were so friendly and genuine that we felt like we knew them...for years and didn’t want to leave, and the food was absolutely delicious and with the menu having something for everyone as I had chicken curry and my wife had a fantastic steak dinner ,we will be going back to taste something else. Also we can’t forget to mention that The owner Mr John Macdonald who happened to be there, and after chatting a bit about the history of the building and some great travelling stories it definitely made our evening. Thank you so much.More

We had two lobster dinners here and the lobster was great but everything else was just OK. The chowder was not good at all. The good news is we had a very nice server or the rating would be less..

If you’re looking for an Island tradition then you’ve come to the right place. Don’t let the line up dissuade you, they move through the line quickly. Once at the host/hostess station you pick the size of lobster your looking for and then are seated....Prepare yourself for a lot of tasty food and watch how the staff caters to the guest. They come by the bus loads! The food is great as is the service. You won’t be disappointed!More

Went here for our anniversary dinner. My wife ordered the five course lobster supper ($39.95) and I ordered the chef's seafood plate. She shared the seafood chowder with me, and it was very good. The blueberry shortcake for our desserts was also excellent. The 1...1/4 pound lobster my wife had was well prepared and tasty. We each ended up with a baked potato, never asked if we wished any other alternative, which seemed odd. My seafood plate was good and bad -- the scallops were good, although I would prefer pan fried and not breaded. The fish was good, and the calamari a generous portion. The coconut shrimp was poor, barely edible. Stick with the local seafood. The tarragon in the butter served was overwhelming -- ask for it to be removed! We appreciated the coffee available with the dinners at no cost. Our server Alexandria was on top of things, but some of the other staff seemed to be quite clueless. The place was not too busy, but is one of the few spots on the island where you can get a lobster dinner. I am told that, now that lobster season has just started as of mid August in PEI, other restaurants should start offering more lobster for the rest of the tourist season.More

We showed up with a large group. The steaks were OK, the lobster was great, but what stands out is the service and the atmosphere: the staff and owners made us feel at home, and the view was unbeatable.

Tried to go to an eatery in Souris even though the place was empty they said they needed a reservation two days in advance they said go to the clam digger. Which was also booked out. Looked on the map and saw that Lobster Suppers...was nearby. Called and got the nicest young lady on the phone who reserved a table with a water view. So we drove over to the Cardigan Lobster. As promised they had a window table for us. Olivia was our server and she was excellent. She took her time and explained the menu. My wife and I both had the beef tenderloin. What an excellent choice. The steak and potatoes was just what we needed after being on the island for a while. The steaks were cooked to order. The large baked potato was fantastic. After dinner we had tea and coffee with pound cake. My wife chose the blueberries with fresh cream. I had the pound cake with Carmel sauce. From start to finish it was a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and chatty. Can't say enough nice things about the staff.More

Two places in town ,the one around the corner which was jammed and this place,we opted for this place on a rainy night when the porch was closed...after reading the menu my excitement peaked not knowing which plate to choose but alas most of the...food was average at best . The moral of the story is if the parking lot is full go in..if it's empty there is a reason and move onMore

Just had a great evening enjoying their lobster dinner. We received great service from Janice and her younger colleague. We are not lobster eaters and this was the first real lobster dinner we’ve had. A fantastic experience that I would recommend to everyone. The bonus...for us is that they permitted our dog to be on their patio so we could all enjoy it together. The unexpected bonus was meeting a very friendly couple from Belfast who now live in Halifax. Life is good when you meet good people.More
