We thoroughly enjoyed the price fixed dinner which was a terrific value. The five course meal was adventurous and delicious. We chose the emu rolls and cheese fondue, the leek soup, the duck and trout entree, and desserts of banana pie and pear cake with berries. The view is lovely.

As we are staying at the hotel, we took advantage to eat at their restaurant. It's not one of the best restaurant as per Trip Advisor, but we enjoyed our evening. We took the table d'hôte and we were not disappointed, the food was nice and innovated, using local products, excellent. The service was great, our server rally knew his menu, again excellent. I think it's worth the trip. Enjoy.

This restaurant serves up beautiful meals while diners enjoy a mesmerizing view of the St Lawrence. A generous menu offers standard choices along with creative dishes that showcase locally sourced food. My dinner included an appetizer featuring emu and a main course of Quebecois veal smothered in local mushrooms. My husband chose a delicious trout tartare appetizer and a traditional Angus steak, which was perfectly prepared. Deserts are creative combinations of chocolate, nuts, goat cheese, sorbet and berries. Service was efficient and polite. Altogether, a gastronomic treat.

The setting for this restaurant is quite dramatic but unfortunately it was dark when we arrived so we missed the view. We chose to have the Table d’hôte which had many interesting local items. The emu roll was tasty as was the beef tartare. The pork chop offering for the main was tough and somewhat dry. The trout was more successful. Desserts were fine - but not magical. I was surprised to see individual butter packages with the bread at a fine dining restaurant. Good wine list. My biggest complaint was the service which was perfunctory and made our experience disappointing.

Fortunately the view was beautiful, because the food, from the mouth to the main course, was very disappointing. Lack of ingredient matching and no seasoning. Really, I do not understand that previous comments have been so good. I'm not going back.

Enjoyed a plentiful breakfast in a sunlit solarium that overlooked the bay. Table service was available or they had a smaller, well-stocked buffet for take-away. Also enjoyed dinner which offered a 4-course chef's selection or a la carte. I tried the emu spring rolls which were wonderful! Service was a little slow at both meals, but I believe that was on purpose so you didn't feel rushed. Staff would be happy to accommodate anyone needing to "eat and run".

WE were seated promptly and then ignored for 25 minutes. No bread basket and no excuses- just no service. I threatened to leave at the 30 minute mark when the bread basket finally came. Menu was pretentious and underwhelming. I would never return and never recommend it.

The restaurant is worth a visit for its beautiful views of the bay!!! The food is absolutely delicious, not pretentious in any way, a little homey with some great local flavors and beautifully presented! We tasted the emu pastry puffs which were absolutely delicious, the foie gras duo as well. We all had the beef, which we would wish they would get from one of the local farms, but it was still absolutely delicious! The sauce made from a local beer was tasty and well balanced! The dessert of the day was a little disappointing to us - presented as a strawberry shortcake, it was actually a scone with whipped cream and strawberries - a little on the dry side and had it been presented properly we would have picked something different. Coffee was fresh and delicious and they have a wide variety of wines on offer. They were out of a few things when we visited but that happens everywhere nowadays. All in all a great experience, very attentive service and a wonderful night for us!

The trout gravlax was superb. Service is above average. Fresh ingredients are used in all preparations. The wine list is varied and prices are reasonable. Mathew who served our wine is from Bordeaux and knows his products.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant during a three day stay. The dining roll-on is elegant worth a fine view over the bay and up the river. We had the five course dinner which was very good - lots of local produve and exceptionally beautiful presentations. The lobster bisque was the star of the night. The wine list was more than adequate. Breakfast the next morning was quite gold although we found the buffet a bit sparse and the price a bit high.

We had reserved elsewhere (after having had two excellent meals out of three dinners in La Malbaie - what a pleasant surprise to find such good food in what is, let's admit it, a quite out of the way place. This was our fourth, and unfortunately last, dinner in La Malbaie). We changed our plans at the last minute because I had hurt my leg and the resto here was easier for us to get to. Talk about a serendipitous injury! Our dinner was as good as any we have had anywhere. Soup, salad and fish - all on a par with anything you could hope to have, in an out of the way place or in the most sophisticated metropolis. Fresh, simple, beautifully presented and delicious. Check it out.

As far as I am concerned, this restaurant rates a 5 stars ! Excellent service, gourmet choices with local products, very detailed presentation, generous portions, a good wine card, etc.

My husband and I stayed here several nights after arriving from Quebec on the train. If you come here directly from the train station, you'll need to take a taxi as it is uphill and about a 30 minute walk. There is some English spoken here. The room overlooked the river with a balcony but it rained while we were visiting so we didn't really get to enjoy the view. The room decor is very outdated and very "grandma" with old style floral fabric, mismatched lighting, and a small bathroom with very little storage. The restaurant is a completely different experience. We had breakfast here both morning and they were fantastic. In addition to your selection (try the crepes with a mountain of fruit), there are tables of pastries, juices, fruit, yogurt that are part of the breakfast.
