Usually, I love this restaurant. But we changed the wine list. Now, a lesser wine at $13 will cost you 40 with taxes and tip. Also, the Tatar steak is always very good. But yesterday he was tasteless. The meat was gray. The fries were limp and tasteless. What is going on with this restaurant?

One-on-one dinner in the old Montmmagny... there is a small café with a splendid and sunny terrace. The menu is diverse, the prices are reasonable and the wine list is minimalist but the choice is good. I had twice as many tartares (beef and salmon ) and my wife a Thai dish. It was okay without more and so was the service. It is true that it was crowded. If I try again it will be outside of a busy period. I would have tasted the crème brûlée but at 8:15 pm there was no more. So it will be next time if there is one.

Uninspired food choices. I had the Tao Poutine and all it was was fries, pre-cooked chicken, a sprinkle of cheese and far too much General Tao Sauce from Sobeys or somewhere in a bottle-That is not cooking as a chef. ...for over $20! Three meals were brought to our table by a pleasant waitress in about 5 minutes -quick but how can you cook that fast!!!! The room was okay but do not expect anything near gourmet food- basic diner stuff thrown together. Not bistro quality.

Stopped here for a late lunch. We did not speak French but the waitress was very helpful. The sausage penne and the Caesar salad were very very good. Ambulance was lovely.

It was a Monday night in July and very little opened in this pretty town. This place was described as a cafe and pub. Had one of the worst meals in years. Chicken with mushroom gravy. The chicken breast was probably bought at Costco. Barely resembled chicken and very over done. The “mushroom gravy” was even worse. Was definitely out of a can and not edible. They took 15 percent off the bill. We shouldn’t have been charged at all. The only redeeming feature of the night was our server who was lovely and tried her best to speak English

We had a nice dinner here. Although the restaurant was bustling, the friendly waitresses helped us out with the french only menus. We would gladly go back again. Great vibe in the restaurant, and an interesting stroll along the old town shops later.

We went here for dinner. My beloved's calamari was excellent as were the frites (and an exceptional home made mayo ). But my 'gourmet' burger, though very tasty was over done. Wines were nice and reasonable value and service was swift and cheerful. I would go back but not for the burger!

We ate here last Saturday on a stopover en route to Halifax from Niagara and it was delicious ! The waitress was very nice & just the right amount of attentive, she even tolerated our lack of French amazingly :) The food was quick & delicious , as were the beer & wine .... would definitely return if ever in the area again

We stopped in Montmagmy on our drive from Toronto to the Maritimes. Our hotel recommended a couple of more expensive choices but we went for a walk and found this place. It has a lovely patio and great service. It seems to be popular with the locals. The food was good. Loved the frites and grilled veggies that came with my steak. The day we were there they had a pasta special which was popular with everyone around us on the patio.

Stopped in Montmagny on our drive along the south shore for lunch. It was well past the main lunch hour and we had not seen anything interesting to stop at for a while. After checking TripAdvisor, we ended up here. The old part of Montmagny is charming. The restaurant obviously has local following -- there were several tables occupied by single lunchers, groups of people enjoying a beverage etc. They have several interesting rooms and we opted to sit on the huge patio which was very inviting with many umbrellas. Our server was prompt and the menu is extensive offering breakfast, and many standard lunch items. We opted to share what turned out to be a very good fresh salmon wrap. The wrap was filled with poached salmon, lettuce, mayo and dill and lightly grilled. It was very tasty as the salmon was generous and the mayo, etc. had only been used to moisten not overpower. This came with fries -- fine, not Quebec special. We also shared a fondue parmesan -- two pieces with salad. Again, good, not stellar. A glass of wine, or indeterminate origin since there was no list or any information other than dry and white, from our server, was fine and very reasonable. I would stop there again in a pinch, but would probably seek something more interesting, especially for dinner.

This little Bistro offers a great choice of dishes for every taste. We stopped in there late one evening after a long drive. The waiter was extremely helpful making us feel right at home with the locals who were enjoying a night out. It was an authentic Quebecois experience. The bistro is in the older part of town surrounded by other small independent shops that are worth a visit too.

This beautiful bistro is located in the 'old' part of Montmagny, so you feel like you're in rural France as you walk the cobblestone streets. Once inside, you are treated to tantalizing aromas, and the daily menu offerings are excellent and well-priced. Even if you think you've eaten enough, have dessert, or at least SHARE one if you're finding with a friend. Everything is top-notch, fresh and everyone is very pleasant and efficient -it's a great vibe.

I found this place very ordinary. The interesting name gave me higher expectations. I was disappointed.

A friendly place to have a cup of coffee and relax in the afternoon... and a perfect place to go out at night with music and ambiance.
