So much but so beautiful experience! We loved our getaway stay at the house rousseau. We slept there two nights and had dinner on the terrace both evenings so we were conquered! Passionate and dedicated hosts! A pure delight! The menu is perfect! In addition we were able to have a delicious lunch box prepared for our visit to the big island! I highly recommend

Lovely building. Excellent food chosen from a very large menu! Good recommendation on wine. Service was slowish. Looked as if they were busy serving their guests whereas we were not staying there.
The sturgeon was very very good.

Stayed for a night in this place as a road trip stopover but I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were so nice and the room was dated but very clean and quaint. Breakfast was amazing and we had a great night's sleep.

La Maison Rousseau has been our favorite restaurant for several years. Unfortunately over the last 2-3 years they have lost quite a few. This evening we went to the special mussels buffet. There were only two kinds of mussels, essentially the same recipe except that one had cream and the other did not. No bowls to eat them in, only plates where the sauce mixes from one type to another and it is not possible to enjoy it while eating the mussels. The stoves were also turned off, so the dishes were cold.
The rest of the buffet consisted of frozen dishes that were not homemade (imperial rolls, pogos, fried onions, fries, etc.) and were mushy because the lid of the dishes was closed and condensation fell on the food.
Sliced cheese platter, salamis and country pâté acceptable. Otherwise prepared dishes including meat lasagna without meat sauce, pasty mac and cheese, dry and pasty general tao chicken made with chicken paste and not real pieces of chicken, dry Exceldor style chicken tournedos. In my opinion, the ribs remain the best choice because they are house smoked and taste good.
Desserts purchased, very very disappointing.
Unfortunately it was their last chance. The last 3 times we went there we were disappointed. It's not getting any better...

Very good place, however we had a package with Outgo for dinner, bed and lunch. We asked what was included. And we ordered what was included and the bill arrived... surprise an extra $26 plus taxes for having taken a starter $4 more than a basic starter and having taken the butcher's special which was a steak very mediocre. So be careful because we won't explain it to you before. I didn't want to spoil the evening which was very good. But I am very disappointed and I will not return there.

For the price range, we were a little disappointed. A diluted, tasteless Chef's Bloody. Average cocktails. The presentation of the plates is correct, but the main meals fall short of the reputation of this House. Pasty linguine, General Tao with shrimp (4 balls) immersed in sauce with little rice. No one has finished their plate. And the Crème Brûlée? How can you miss a crème brulée? The deliciousness was not there. Damage. It is time for this House to have a real leader to return to a level of excellence.

I had lunch there recently on the way back home from a short vacation. We did not expect to have the best lunch, just a convenient one and it was okay. Of course, the one problem with most restaurants nowadays is the service. The waiters were all very nice but clearly unexperienced. It must be the same in the kitchen because it took longer that would be the norm to get the food.
We had burgers and a quesadilla. The burger was okay as was the quesadilla.
Would I go out of my way to eat there, no, but I would go back if need be.

Very very average service by three different people. More than 1h30 for supper, without dessert obviously. Really ordinary meal for the Award. We've already eaten a lot better. Unfortunately, we will not go back.

A rare 10/10 for a breakfast. Beautiful historic inn but more importantly, quality food. The menu is varied and encourages local producers (Quebec) from all over. Would highly recommend for breakfast.

Our room was large, fridge, TV, comfortable mattress, very clean. We used this as our base to visit various towns and sights both near and far. Most rooms smaller but good value, upgrades may be possible. Meals very good and staff friendly & helpful. Merci to Valerie and Pierre.

We have enjoyed meals at the restaurant several times. Ribs are excellent wine list excellent. Staff excellent and very friendly. Highly recommended.
We had a room in the attic which was very nice, with some walls and authentic wood beams and rafters. The early 1800s speaks to you in this room. Very clean nice bathroom. We will stay again on our journeys from Ontario to the Maritimes.
