I had been to Cassis Monna & Filles once before and it was défini worth a second visit! Service & Pricing: Waiters and personnel are very nice and helpful. Even with the measures currently in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prices are quite high but, it is worth it when you see the size of the dishes you order. General Atmosphere: Located on the main road that circulates through the entire island, it is a great place to begin or end your journey on your island tour. For people who just wanna drive in, cross the bridge, eat there and go back on the mainland after, it is great too because it is only 2 minutes from the bridge. The property is very good looking, well restored, and huge. There are even a few small animals on property... There is also a great view of the other side of the river from the upstairs terrasse. Food: We had the Pizza, along with the popcorn chicken. Both were very good. Finished everything off with excellent gelato. But as I said, be aware that portions are very generous, so be ready to eat quite a bit. Thanks to everyone who made our meal extra special. We’ll definitely be back!

One place we wanted to visit on L'Île d'Orléans was Cassis Monna et Filles. There is no reservation on their website, there was a wait of 45 minutes to have a table once we arrived. On location, you could go to do some black currant tasting with/without wine, there was the store and of course a dairy bar. The covid policy was respected and there is enough space between the tables as well as hand sanitizer everywhere. We ordered as an appetizer the popcorn chicken which comes with a dipping that has some cassis (Black currant). For the main dishes we had the grilled cheese and the pulled pork sandwiches; both came with black currant in the recipe. The 2 main dishes had the same sides namely the fries and the salad with the black currant vinaigrette. The appetizer as well as the 2 main dishes were very good. The service was friendly, courteous and professional. The prices were normal. Overall - enjoyable and a nice place to relax for a few hours with a view of the Montmorency Falls

Cassis cassis cassis. Very quaint little big place on ile d’Orléans. Frankly, this stop is why brought us to island. Had lunch (well ventilated outside bistro, little cold so being sweater in summer. Very pretty. Very friendly staff and good covid sanitation measures. Food was good but note that many items comes with fries which are cooked in peanut oil. They have disclaimer but this is bold move and unusual move. Very accommodating (swap fries from salad) but someone who is very sensitive...be aware. Very nice boutique downstairs with black current items of all kinds. My only gripe is the spirit tasting (degustation) is at every 15 min for some very odd reason...unless this is mandated by Govt it needs to stop. I feel it interrupts organic flow of customers who want to try product before buying bottles. Why can samples be on demand? Why not pre-pour samples and as people trickle in, they can taste them? Don’t think oxidation of products is major barrier for average person. I didn’t have time or desire to wait until next 15’ session shoudl to shoulder other guests so I only bought 2 small bottles. This is why 4/5 stars. Rest was very nice. I would come back.

Very good food and a great experience. The warm goat cheese salad with cassis vinaigrette was really exceptional. I also really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. It was very thoughtfully prepared on very good , fresh bread. It was also lightly topped with vinaigrette and cole slaw. A really well balanced flavorful sandwich ( I tend to take issue with places that top pork with eggs or cheese or even foie gras, as if pork needs more fat. But I digress) . They do not take reservations so we did have to wait about 45 minutes. However, that 45 minutes was spent sitting out at a table over looking the falls sipping Sangria, so not too shabby. Overall a great meal in a perfect setting.

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) agree that our lunch at Cassis Monna & Filles was our favorite meal during our 4 days in/around Quebec City. The setting is beautiful, the outdoor patio is very nice, and the food was delicious. 100% recommend!

This proved to be a beautiful stop on tour around I'lle D'Orlean. There was line up for patio but it was worth the gorgeous view across the St Lawrence River. The wait staff were friendly we had Popcorn chicken, Quiche, Baked brie salad and fries. Everything, not surprisingly, had a cassis sauce. Apart from the fries which were not hot and just OK. Everything was very tasty. But the best thing here was the soft serve Cassis sorbet/ice cream, which is served from the roadside kiosk. In fact the ice cream was so good that we came back for seconds on another day. BTW you can also order some of the food from the kiosk and eat at one of the picnic tables in the field below. Ice cream so good.

We came back to Cassis Monna et filles to buy more cassis mustard, because I finished the jar I bought last summer. So delicious. This time we got to have lunch there. The restaurant was amazing! They had gluten free bread for my husband (not marked on the menu), I had poutine with duck confit, and my son had mushroom quiche topped with cassis-flavored onions.

One of those perfect spots that makes you feel good inside. The products - many and varied, food and cosmetic, all based on black currants - are wonderful and not too pricey. They offer tastings and have a restaurant where all foods and many drinks are blackcurrant based. We booked restaurant as soon as we arrived and then explored the shop and enjoyed sitting outside people watching. There are roadworks entering the island which adds substantially to the time but hopefully they will be finished soon/ this year. One of the highlights of my visit and I intend to order off their online store too.

We came here to taste the currant wine and some of the other products they make from currants. The compote and jams were delicious and we purchased several to take home. The wine tastings were interesting since they were only from currants. They went from very sweet, to a port, to a syrup. Unfortunately, the bottles can't be shipped to the US and you can't buy any of their products in the US either, but we enjoyed them there. The area looks over a gorgeous vista and was very calming. There is also an area in the upstairs of the building that they serve lunch.

The most delightful restaurant on the island. Lunch on the second floor terrace was superb, with a very pretty view. The place is packed all the time and we had to wait an hour for a table gor our big party. But, we had eaten there before and we knew the wait was well worth it. Meanwhile, a walk around the pretty grounds and a look in the shop on site happily filled the time. Products containing black currents they grow are sold here and featured on the menu as well.

Sad experience. I came here with my parents who do not speak English or French, and the attendant (young and probably without experience) was very rude to them in the reception area. She showed a lack of sympathy and manner to treat tourists. It is the biggest defect in Quebec, because they sell themselves as a tourist spot but are unable to offer quality service due to the incompetence of the people of customer service.

We arrived towards the end of the day and yet they did a fabulous job presenting their selection. Language was not an issue rather they were excited to speak to us in English. Everything we tried was yummy and was clearly marked and easy to find. Highly recommend a visit.

Stopped for a late lunch when visiting the L'isle d'Orleans in the St Lawrence River 15 km outside of Quebec City. Read early reviews on Trip Advisor. This was a visit as part of a longer visit to Quebec City during the COVID Pandemic. The service was excellent. The food options were superb. Excellent quality and different options. Location with a beautiful sight of the river. The cassis is just the bonus, and it is very tasty.

Wow! This is a must visit! The cassis products are absolutely amazing. We left with several bottles of alcohol as well as mustard, jam, and compote!! Then enjoy a dinner with a spectacular view and amazing menu. The grilled cheese appetizer is a must. The Dick and Goat cheese salad were also delicious!
