Great location with beautiful view. Great place to visit during summertime and enjoy cassis in all its different forms. The ice cream is a must as well as the different wines. Staff is great at explaining the different products. Prices are fair for quality.
The blackcurrant sorbet in the ice cream twist was spectacular. The views are amazing. There is something for everyone here. A takeout window for food, ice cream stand, restaurant, shop for blackcurrant products including alcohol, and a tasting venue. The quality of the products are...unique and top notch. I recommend you go for yourself and to bring gifts or memories back home.More
One place we wanted to visit on L'Île d'Orléans was Cassis Monna et Filles. There is no reservation on their website, there was a wait of 45 minutes to have a table once we arrived. On location, you could go to do some black currant...tasting with/without wine, there was the store and of course a dairy bar. The covid policy was respected and there is enough space between the tables as well as hand sanitizer everywhere. We ordered as an appetizer the popcorn chicken which comes with a dipping that has some cassis (Black currant). For the main dishes we had the grilled cheese and the pulled pork sandwiches; both came with black currant in the recipe. The 2 main dishes had the same sides namely the fries and the salad with the black currant vinaigrette. The appetizer as well as the 2 main dishes were very good. The service was friendly, courteous and professional. The prices were normal. Overall - enjoyable and a nice place to relax for a few hours with a view of the Montmorency FallsMore
The food was delicious and Jade was phenomenal! Would go back 100 times for the goat cheese salad and the pulled pork sandwich. Fries were delicious too!
We were delighted to come across this gem on the island - great sangria coupled with grand vista. We had arrived in hopes of securing a spot at the restaurant.. but alas.. note that they do not take reservations (not sure if this is Covid-19...related) and they close early at 8pm.More
I had been to Cassis Monna & Filles once before and it was défini worth a second visit! Service & Pricing: Waiters and personnel are very nice and helpful. Even with the measures currently in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prices are quite high...but, it is worth it when you see the size of the dishes you order. General Atmosphere: Located on the main road that circulates through the entire island, it is a great place to begin or end your journey on your island tour. For people who just wanna drive in, cross the bridge, eat there and go back on the mainland after, it is great too because it is only 2 minutes from the bridge. The property is very good looking, well restored, and huge. There are even a few small animals on property... There is also a great view of the other side of the river from the upstairs terrasse. Food: We had the Pizza, along with the popcorn chicken. Both were very good. Finished everything off with excellent gelato. But as I said, be aware that portions are very generous, so be ready to eat quite a bit. Thanks to everyone who made our meal extra special. We’ll definitely be back!More
Cassis cassis cassis. Very quaint little big place on ile d’Orléans. Frankly, this stop is why brought us to island. Had lunch (well ventilated outside bistro, little cold so being sweater in summer. Very pretty. Very friendly staff and good covid sanitation measures. Food was...good but note that many items comes with fries which are cooked in peanut oil. They have disclaimer but this is bold move and unusual move. Very accommodating (swap fries from salad) but someone who is very sensitive...be aware. Very nice boutique downstairs with black current items of all kinds. My only gripe is the spirit tasting (degustation) is at every 15 min for some very odd reason...unless this is mandated by Govt it needs to stop. I feel it interrupts organic flow of customers who want to try product before buying bottles. Why can samples be on demand? Why not pre-pour samples and as people trickle in, they can taste them? Don’t think oxidation of products is major barrier for average person. I didn’t have time or desire to wait until next 15’ session shoudl to shoulder other guests so I only bought 2 small bottles. This is why 4/5 stars. Rest was very nice. I would come back.More
This was my second visit to this delightful spot on the island. At this time of year, only the tasting room/boutique is open, but that was enough for me. I wanted to at least experience another tasting and make a purchase. The gentleman who assisted...me with this was very pleasant and courteous. The charge for the tasting was minimal, making it a tremendous value. All their products are delicious; I also tasted a variety of jams and a marvelous cassis butter. I bought the creme de cassis because it had the most concentrated currant flavor, but any of the three wines would have been an excellent souvenir of a trip to Quebec. I also bought some of the butter, but it was a tough decision. On my last visit, I was able to dine at La Monnaguette restaurant, which was very enjoyable, and the dairy bar, which was a true highlight. I liked the cassis gelato so much that, after exploring the Économusée, I went back for a second helping. How I wished I could have done this again on my more recent visit. But enough of my raving: go experience this place yourself!More
We tasted several of the outstanding cassis beverages during our visit and everything was incredible! The sangria is a must-try! Don't miss trying the vanilla & cassis swirled ice-cream - the best thing I have ever tasted.
