My wife and I decided to check out Asao during a long weekend staying in Tecate. We came in for an early dinner and absolutely loved it. The dining room was pristine and had an excellent view of the surrounding hills above Tecate. The staff was very helpful and the menu was chock full of great tasty choices. I would... More

Upon arriving at the hotel and seeing the wonderful view, our group was looking forward to a nice dinner. Unfortunately our experience was quite different. We started the dinner off with the local version of Cheese Fondido, grilled cheese with peppers and dried tomatoes on toasted bread. Ok, but doesn't compare to the traditional dish. 1st course at the table... More

Las weekend my husband and I invited two special Japanese friends to join us in this place. The couple enjoyed it as we did. The service was good, the food pretty tasty. The restaurant closes at 11:00 pm. So if you are coming home (San Diego) you should do a stop and get there a dinner. You can cross the... More

Absolutely the best DINE-OUT experience I had! The greatest place to eat "nice" Mexican food with a touch of local!

Very welcoming entry, nice airy dining room that opens to a patio with good views of the hills... and the US border fence (the back wall of the parking lot seems to be the border). Had a tasty Mexican wine, delicious food (had a fruit mole) with a nice presentation. Staff was friendly and thorough and polite and not intrusive.... More

Many will say that you don't expect this restaurant in a town like Tecate...but you do! One of the best menus, views, service and venue in the Baja. It's food is beautifully plated and with combinations you haven't seen before. Take the trip to my home town, Tecate, and enjoy this jewel of a restaurant.

I've been here back when it opened and several times since them. Pricing is reasonable, but food is bland and nothing special. A few years ago as a desert, I tried the cheesecake, what a sad surprise. I was served a large plate with three small approximately 1.5

Had the octopus, queso fundido, corn soup, and grilled oysters. I would be hard pressed to tell you which plate was the best. They were all delicious. They place was deserted, but the decor impeccable, the view reminded me of Tuscany, with rolling hills, and olive trees. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone

Good Service and exceptional view in the balcony. A beautiful structure with both a bar bistro and restaurant classic dining with piano music. Very pleasant place to take for a romantic view or a good group of friends.
