I love this restaurant. It is right across from the Mission San Bernardino which was constructed in the 1500's by the Jesuits. Definitely worth a visit and then a great gourmet meal at Taverna De Los Frailes.

This restaurant is a little more expensive than most in Valladolid but the food is very good. The English spoken is better here and the service is excellent. It is also conveniently located next to the convent if you are going to the sound and light show in the evening.

... which, alas, was a bit disappointing. Two of us enjoyed excellent fish dishes, expertly prepared in wonderful light sauces. We arrived on a very quiet mid-week evening, with only two other parties in the restaurant. Service was cheerful and well-informed. It was well worth the long walk from our hotel in the town center. I can confidently recommend this... More

We enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio, with a striking view of the San Bernardino Convent. Excellent attention from the staff. Quiet, with tasteful background music. Our meal choices were Pooc Chuc and Conchinita Pibil. Both meals were very good: tasty, colourful and nicely presented. The Cochinita Pibil was a bit salty, but this balanced with a piece of... It's right next to the convent which is a short (pleasant) walk from the town square. Was much less targeted at tourists than lots of other places in town. The food was really good and large portions. Well worth a visit.

The highlight of our meal here was the incredible grilled watermelon salad. By far, this one dish was worth trying this restaurant. The restaurant is right next to the convent and had a lovely atmosphere. The entrees we ordered were slightly on the smaller side. My husband's pork was slightly dry. My sausage was cooked perfectly, but again, it was... More

We waited a whole year after viewing the process of this restaurant being restored. And it was worth the wait. We had a nice time just hanging out in the front bar area, and having drinks. Also had dinner here, and was sorry we didn't have another night to try some of the other menu options. There are so many... More

This review is long overdue. My husband & I visited on our way back to Tulum after visiting Chichen Itza in June of 2012. We hadn't done any research on restaurants in this area (I noticed on the car rental map there was a church to see, which led us to drive through Valladolid), so we were grateful to happen... More

Absolutely spot on Yucateco food. We had octopus in garlic, veggie empanadas, traditional pork dish and salmon brochettes. My daughter is a coeliac and every mouthful was naturally gluten free. Soft corn tortillas and crispy empanadas were great but the octopus deserves special mention. The place is beautiful too. Make time to visit!

Just got back for this wonderful restaurant tucked up behind the magnificent convent. We had very traditional Yucatecan food, Conchanita Pibil and something we can't pronounce...but no matter, both were excellent. Nice size portions too. Now back to those martinis. Amaretto and citrus ...WOW very nice. The chef made a special effort to make us fried plantains drenched in brandy... More
