An amazing dining surprise given the remoteness of location! Terrific martinis, fantastic food, lovingly prepared and warm wonderful hosts who cater to individual needs and preferences. We go for dinner multi[ple times each trip to Xcalak. You should too!

Leaky Palapa is a total gem and the quality of food and drinks, as well as the service, is comparable or better than anything you will find in a big city. The premises are quaint with a beautiful garden and pond and the food will...knock your socks off. I had the grilled snapper with risotto last time and it was fantastic. Also, make sure to save room for some chocolate flan for dessert. It is the greatest. No trip to Xcalak is complete without at least one dinner at Leaky Palapa. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.More

We had a great meal with our fellow hotel guests on our last night in Xcalak here. The chef went over the menu in detail with me and discussed the gluten free options. The bean cakes were delicious.

Fabulous food and service. I adored the ambience and the host made us feel so welcome. I think this was the best meal I have had in Mexico. Fine dining, not to be confused with roadhouse-style fare but worth every cent. Bravo. The fish cake...appetizer was my personal favourite.More

There are few restaurants I’ve been to that nail the whole experience from start to finish and this is one of them. Some of the best food, friendship and service I’ve ever had. Thank you Marta and Linda!

We had a very nice dinner in this charming, cozy, laid back restaurant. Husband had the shrimp pasta that was delicious... pasta so tender. I had the mandarin fish which also was delicious although some of the vegetables were underdone. The fried ravioli appetizer... so...yummy. And lastly dessert... bread pudding and chocolate flan finished off a fine meal. Service was excellent and prices very reasonable. We'll be back!More

The food is mindblowing and the owners are the friendliest around. 12/10 would reccomend a visit to the leaky palapa, or 9. Some people actually plan their entire vacation around it (they're only open 6 out of 12 months of the year). I've never been...disappointed in the food's flavor, presentation or the staff at this beautiful restaurant. Sometimes the locals stop in for grade school kids singing presentations, or the chef will invite you back to the kitchen to talk menu options. This place is a must visit and, if it's on the menu that night, order the ginger lobster, x2!!More

I don’t think I can add anything new about this restaurant that hasn’t already been said, so I will just say that it’s amazing and not to be missed if you visit Xcalak. :)

I've eaten at many a posh restaurant in big cities that don't come close to the experience at Leaky Palapa. What a delightful surprise to find this lovely spot in rural Mexico! The food was delicious and the service excellent. Stay at Sin Duda Villas,...and eat here!More

Leaky Palapa was the venue on my New year celebration this 2020 on the mexican Caribbean... but on the hidden part, the unknown face of the Mayan Riviera, the one without mobile network, no ATM and no tourists damaging the environment. This restaurant is located...in Xcalak and has a charming of any fancy restaurant you could find in Playa del Carmen or Tulum. If you're in the area you're probably here cause of the fishing or diving on the amazing reef, please go there, it's true, Xcalak has only 7 restaurants and this is the number 1, but the quality is surprising. Excellent service, during the dinner the owner went a few times to check on our meals and service provided, we offered to pay with card and in a very surprising way, even she didn't have a payment terminal, she sent us via paypal the check the next day and trust us with it's payment (since you have to accept the charge ) Excellent food and atmosphere!More
