We had the five course tasting menu. The menu was well balanced, it wasn't too heavy and every element tasted delicious. One of the nicest tasting menus we've had!

Evocative of times gone by, this restaurant offered a more sedate dining experience to the glitzier eateries that line the main road through the village. The plates were imaginatively arranged, and flavours were good. Tables were nicely spaced and linens were clean and crisp. The...More

This is the top end of the restaurants and offers fine dining with beautiful white table clothes and a lot of the food is sourced locally.

We ate here for our anniversary, our second tasting menu in two nights. We had eaten at a Michelin star restaurant the night before, so this meal had a lot to live up to. It started a little flat, when we were presented with a...More

The hotel restaurant is in a conservatory tacked on to the side of the building. Which is fine in summer but it’s damn cold in winter and we’ve vowed never to go again at that time of year. Which is why it’s been a while...More

The Alderley is a split-level conservatory on wooded slopes overlooking the Cheshire countryside. The family-run feel of the main sandstone country house is felt here too, where warm browns, gentle lighting and exemplary front-of-house staff make you really rather comfortable. The food's exceptionally good; all freshly made and sourced locally, as the breads and homemade butters testify. Temptations are many, like rump of Cheshire lamb, slow-cooked tomatoes, baby roasted potatoes and garden mint, £23.15, and 'Treacletown' pudding with butterscotch ice cream and toffee sauce, £6.50. Not to mention seared liver and bacon with herb mash and redcurrant jus from the table d'hote lunch menu, £13.95 for two excellent courses. Meals can be scaled up or down, as you like.
