Friendly pub - although the land lord has dogs in the pub which are friendly but tend to slobber over you - not good when your trying to have a drink

Went to the Salt Barge for tea today, haven't been their for quite some time. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Real chips instead of frozen ,which is a bonus these days. My husband had the braising steak and I had the gammon, they were both really tasty. Very friendly staff, and not over powering as some... More

Popped in for lunch after visiting Lion Salt Works. Had a delightful meal with excellent local ale!! Yum, yum!! Left feeling sated and well happy. Great , friendly and welcoming service. Lovely food, well cooked and neatly presented. And a huge St Bernard to boot! Highly recommended and we'll be going back.

We visited here for my dad's 80th birthday tea - we haven't been for a very long time. The food and service was excellent - excellent home cooked food, the staff were very polite, friendly and extremely helpful. We will certainly be visiting again - well done all.

We stopped here for tea after walking half way round the flashes. We loved how traditional this pub was. It felt like you were in a local but without feeling unwelcome. We had the gammon and the burger. Portions were the perfect size and the price is just right. We took our dog and sat in the bar area where... More

A friendly local. Roaring fires in the winter. It's a proper pub that has the benefit of being big enough to accommodate drinkers & diners both locals & holidaymakers. Excellent homemade grub. Smaller & larger portions available too. Sunday lunch is excellent & mid week lunch specials for a fiver. What more could you want?

Came for lunch after hearing good reviews about the £5 midweek deal, have to say i was a little underwhelmed after eating here previously and being wowed. Average food, service and the pud itself was very cold, sat with my coat on the whole time.

Well I'm sorry to trouble you all but this makes for interesting reading. I post a review of the pub you all reviewed and mines not so good as we had dogs upsetting the children nothing great food and poor service but the dogs ruined the meal If you have children they can want to befriend a dog one minute and stay well away from the next. Now ours mostly decided they wanted to eat and having a dog wandering at your feet whilst eating was annoying so I posted a review and that should have been the end of it in mmy view but OH no look at the review from Donald4 just after mine complimenting the Chicken Tikka the Chille The two dogs and the drinks service the 5 main things I had complained about about. Then look its his first review > He has two children 8 and 5 and its his first review on trip adviser and just happens to compliment all the things I had complained about Added to which I can just see it "Kids we are going to the Salt Barge" on a bank holiday Monday The kids ask "why whats there" Well a pub A play area dad? No A pub A local attraction dad? No Just a pub Can you picture it

So I ask you all this before I post both reviews on other social media Do you think this Donald4 review is a genuine one

You see I can live with a bad experience and get on but when I start to feel like the Establishment is having a laugh at my genuine review that's when I cant tolerate it

The review has been reported to trip adviser as after all as per trip adviser website.... It is also illegal to post fake reviews in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Germany, Ireland, Sweden and the Netherlands (among other countries) pursuant to the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, adopted by these countries..........Lets see if you are genuine Donold4
