Ate here with a group of friends whilst on a week's walking holiday. Nothing fancy just simple honest pub grub. Decent sized portions, in fact some of the group could not finish. A good local that serves adequate food.

Very disappointing. The pub wasn't clean, under-staffed perhaps although it wasn't busy. Got the impression it was running on a shoe-string. Food was low-standard pub-grub. Beer OK. Not inclined to return even if there are very few alternatives within walking distance.

Visited here on a Sunday afternoon and was welcomed with lovely staff, locals and great food. Tom and Dave are great hosts to everyone that came in, knew most of the orders before they even asked and were good with the kids in the pub...More
Hoping for live music as advertised but didn't happen. Pleasant enough and a local boozer but left after one drink to resume at the Dalesam Inn. Bar staff at the Red Lion were clueless.
