They took my lunch order for the vegetarian special at the counter, but 5 mins later came to say 'all gone!' Hmm, I settled for the replacement along similar lines, celeriac, apple with smoked cheese, but it wasn't really savoury enough. It came with an extensive mixed salad, excellent and fresh but rather drowned in throat-catching vinegar. Please let folk... More

My boyfriend and I decided to head out for a nice Sunday breakfast somewhere locally to where we live in Kendal and thought we would try Wilf's after hearing it reopened in January. Upon arrival we headed in and found a table in the back of the cafe (a child free zone) however children were in there! We then had... More

Thankyou Lucy, we welcome constructive comments & will always work to put things to rights. Of course it would have been nice to have had the opportunity to talk to you in person & put your breakfast to rights on the day & in person. More

Uncomfortable wooden chairs or low, destroyed sofas. I'd rather sit in my car. Gents loo ridiculously small...hope ladies is better! Food adequate - try nearby cafe eclec for much better home made grub. Or More bakery for better sarnies. Or Hawkshead Brewery for better booze. Or Eagle & Child for better seating (and warmth!). All within 2 mins of this... More

We have eaten here in the past (and reviewed the great lunch), but this time we decided to go for breakfast. It was a good decision. The "big meaty" breakfast (veggie options also available) was superb with top quality suasage & bacon and all the trimmings, accopanied by lovely granary toast & plenty of tea & coffee. The place was... More

Had lunch in Wilfs on a very busy Sunday. I had the Cumberland sausage baguette with a lovely side salad. Boyfriend had the soup and sandwich. Everything was fresh and tasty. Cakes looks gorgeous, but as watching the waist line after Christmas we by passed those and just drooled.

We went to Wilf’s Café shortly after it opened on a very cold day in January, and we’d already been up and about for a while. We were hoping for a hot and hearty breakfast to enjoy and to set us up for the rest of the day. Wilf’s delivered on all counts. We opted for the Meaty Feast –... More

We visited Wilf's two days running for breakfast as the local Travelodge didn't have a restaurant. Bacon, egg and sausage butties delicious not to mention the crumpets and jam!! We've visited Wilf's for lunch on a few occasions in the past and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this popular cafe/ restaurant.

Lovely cafe next to the river in a retail-converted industrial area. Taking a toddler and a 6 month year old we were happy to find kiddies table, toys and books along with quick service to avoid the pending tantrums. Good food, and good prices. Will visit again..

Our Cafe is tricky to find at the back of The Mill Yard by the river, but deserves to be found for all sorts of reasons.... Based in the old Bobbin Loft with some of the old line workings still in place, we have traditional seating plus a cozy sofa area inside plus decking over looking the river Kent for warmer days.
