Beautiful, top quality cafe at the David Mellor museum. Stylish and design-led as you would anticipate with lovely cutlery! Certainly would impress on a lunch date or afternoon tea stop after see a nice walk along the river at Hathersage. Gorgeous homemade cakes, lovely staff and sunny tables outside too. Gets busy on nice days and is priced at the... More

First visit here, beautiful setting, lovely food, friendly staff. Took my Aunt as well who is celiac, and she was really impressed that they did gluten free bread with the delicious soup and had a choice of gluten free cakes! Will most definitely be returning.

My family and I go regularly here because we love the shop which features the cutlery designed and produced by the founder. We ordered a coffee and a cup of tea plus Bakewell tart and a slice of cake. After 10 mins the drinks appeared with the slice of cake. After we had finished the drinks and the cake 20 mins later the Bakewell tart finally arrived. I explained we had finished our drinks but the waitress called Lucy flounced off ,... More

Chanced upon this place when thinking about a morning coffee stop. I had heard of David Mellor but didn't realise he designed such a wide range of items. Interesting small museum, shop and good coffee.

My first visit to the David Mellor cafe/museum/shop was a very pleasant experience. While the food may be slightly expensive, it was tasty and well presented and the cafe staff were polite and helpful. The museum and shop, which are housed in the same building as the cafe, are well worth a visit. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon... More
