A real pity because this place would do really well with just a simple change in attitude of the staff/owner. Immediately on entering and approaching the ordering desk there was no welcoming smile, just a cold atmosphere that made you feel like a hindrance. To be fair, the food we ordered was very nice and well presented but this would... More

My wife and I are lucky to live in the Peak District and regularly enjoy coffee and cakes in local cafes. We decided to try this cafe for the first time and ordered coffee with fruit scones and butter only. We were flabbergasted to find the cost of a simple fruit scone with butter to be a staggering £3.95. We... More

Popped in on the off chance on a sunday. Brilliant place, lovely cheese scones. Wish we had a dog to bring with us. If you have a dog and wanting dog friendly this is the place. Will come back for sure.

While out and about on a dull rainy day, we looked this place up on our dog friendly app, and was not disappointed. Very friendly owner and staff, cakes like you have not seen before and even the coffee was yum. Very welcoming and made us feel at home. The funny thing was that the leaflets about the place had... 5 of us picked up for breakfast with 2 small dogs. We were not disappointed at all and our dogs were made very welcome. The food was excellent - we all had cooked breakfast and sausage for the dogs too. Value for money too. Well worth a visit if you are passing through Tideswell.

Stopped for a cuppa and cakes. Ordered cheese scones as the plain and fruit ones had sold out. We paid £12 which we thought was a bit excessive. When they came we were pleasantly surprised as they were topped with cheese and had a small salad - nice little touch.

Had a lovely lunch with my family yesterday. The ploughman's is to be highly recommended, and the coffee's were very good also. Our children enjoyed a home made scone each, and the milkshakes were a big hit too. Good place to visit, I suspect difficult to get into during the Summer months!

I often travel 25 miles on my motorcycle for breakfast at the Vanilla Kitchen and am always made very welcome. I have found the lady proprietor and all the staff to be very welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent.

What a shame this 'lady' runs this place, very very rude and arrogant, will never go again whilst she's there! Could be a gold mine, feel very sorry for her staff.

Visited the Vanilla Kitchen today with my wife, whilst walking with the dogs. The home made scones are the best we have ever had and Sue the owner made both ourselves and our dogs very welcome. If you are in the area definitely worth a visit. I know we will be visiting again soon.
