Myself and the family went for an early New Year's Eve meal. Although very busy in the bar we were well looked after in the restaurant area. The food was wholesome home cooked traditional British food. I had lamb shank which was really good. Nice selection of drinks, ales and good selection of gins. Friendly and attentive staff. Could probably... More

Stayed locally over Christmas and went in for a few drinks after a long dog walk. Staff were warm in their welcome of both us and our 3 dogs. Great choice of gin and really reasonably priced. Also had an evening meal here and food was good pub grub - what you would expect but nothing more. The service was... More

One nice touch is the large boat of extra... More

Excellent food served by friendly staff in a traditional pub. Good use of local ingredients- one of the staff said the lamb was raised by her. Highly recommended.

We ate here on a midweek lunchtime. Decent choice on the menu. I had game pie which was very good indeed. Friendly, efficient service. Proper country pub with cosy open fire and relaxed ambience.

Friendly service and wonderful home made pies - just what was needed after a walk across the Dales. We ate in the pub but there is a separate restaurant if you prefer.
