Four adults & a toddler booked in for lunch. The dining room is beautiful. we had a selection of dishes, including pie, fish & burger. The food was delicious, well seasoned and care had been taken with it. Good value overall, would highly recommend this pub.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner in this beautifully decorated and lit country pub. Tasty pheasant on crushed potatoes with a berry and port jus and delicious melted camembert with pear chutney and flat bread fingers to dip (which my veggie partner had as a main course) were followed by homemade ice cream and a wonderfully light and tasty Christmas pudding... Been here many times and each time thoroughly enjoyed. Great pub with great staff and delicious food. Had the baked cod last night which was so good, partner had Barnsley chop which he said was tasty just a little small. Will be back very soon , anyone in the area has to visit this place.

A lovely pub in a lovely setting. The food was very good and reasonably priced and the staff were very welcoming. If you are a dog lover it welcomes well behaved dogs too and if you went during the day for lunch you could tie in a visit to the Mouseman museum

The charms of this countryside pub will live long in the memory after the wife and i visited in July 2016. It's a beautiful place to sit and relax and the food was simply fantastic. Good meal, with great menu. Went on a Friday night, book for a table in the restaurant if you don't want to eat in the bar. Lovely wee village.

Friendly staff ~ traditional old charming bar ~ good varied menu ~ ordered two roast meat sandwiches with gravy and chips, food was good ~ dinning room a little dark. Quick service, prices about average for this type of pub, made a good shandy.

The room was very comfortable. The staff were cheerful, and made our stay enjoyable. The food was superb, in fact I would rate every aspect of this place as extremly good. My wife and I would have no hesitation to staying here again.

Had 2 evening meals here during our stay at the hotel. There is nothing to complain about. The food was delicious, served by lovely staff in no time at all. Served hot as it has not been sat under a hot lamp. In our view represented good value for money. The mussels were absolutely devine, the best I've ever tasted.

We live locally so visit from time to time for a lunch after a walk. The pub is old fashioned (in the best possible way) and homely especially in winter when the fire is lit. There is a variety of good traditional food. Variety of local real ales. Staff are friendly and attentive. Park in the village and take a... More
