really gone down hill in recent months. They are lucky they have little competition in EG as most the pubs are pants for food but do yourself a favour and go to The Wiremill or the little Italian in EG which are both much nicer, friendlier and value for money.

Visited for the first time in a couple of years for Sunday lunch. Service was slow and not always very attentive, the shoulder of lamb Sunday lunch was a reconstituted lump, very strange, the other diners with me all agreed although nothing tangibly wrong with the food it was all rather underwhelming. Coupled with either poorly trained or motivated waiting... More

Took my wife for an early Sunday lunch - very friendly welcome and pleasant surroundings - my wife had the salmon and I had the beef medallions with wasabi mash - We were both delighted by the quality of the food - The Harvey's best was a superb accompaniment to the meal Best decision of the day !

I called ahead as it was a last minute choice of venue. The meals did not disappoint - we started with spring rolls and pork belly bites. The spring rolls were crispy but roll outweighed the vegetables and was a bit doughy. The pork belly bites went down a treat. For mains we settled on fish and chips and the... More

We popped in for a drink as we passed by and decided to have a light bite as well from the menu. I had a panini and my wife had soup, both were very tasty and hot. The staff were excellent and ensured we were happy with our visit. The restaurant was large and spacious, and there was a good... More

My family took me to The Old Mill on 21st Feb to celebrate my 'big' birthday. We were all seated in the King's Room. The location was excellent we had privacy and comfort. Food, service, ambiance was just perfect. Loved it! Will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Visited The Old Mill to celebrate my Mother-in-laws birthday. We were a party of 10 & the staff couldn't of been more helpful or polite. The food was fantastic (it was no bother at all to see if meals could be adjusted due to dislikes) & we were able to decorate a private area allocated to us. Thank you very... More

Narrow windows for meals and inflexibility especially if you might actually fancy a pudding after dinner - "sorry the kitchens closed." Great waitresses and bar staff, lovely pub, let down by a lazy chef who peddles a pretty dull and uninspiring menu but only when he feels like it. The previous management did a much better job.

We have not eaten here for a couple of months but am pleased to say that we were not disappointed when we returned early on Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy so there was an unusual delay in being able to place our food order however the service from then on was good and the food hot and well... More

Had been here several times before it changed hands and I was always pleased. Not so this time however. I had seafood linguine which was not very good and was running with water. I did complain but no apology was forthcoming and I was charged full price. I will not return.
