The food was quite nice, however, the reason we booked was that we thought the pasta was home made. It wasn't. A bit disappointed. Had a bit of a sing and dance. Maria explained the history of the Macaroni factory which was quite interesting.

My bowl of pasta was swimming in water. I could not eat my meal even though I was starving. Apart from the water the sauce wasn't nice. The waiter needs to attempt to look the part and wear an apron at the very least. The restaurant needs a revamp and clean. On the positive our red onion bread was nice... More

How often do you get to dine in an authentic nineteenth century dining room with big open fire, huge ceiling fresco, worn wooden tables? Matt and his mother Maria are welcoming and obliging hosts. Meals are mostly pasta and quite acceptable. Good local wines available by glass and bottle. Not fine dining but it doesn't claim to be. It helps... More

Unfortunately, I am not able to review the food at Lucini's. My partner and I lived at the nearby Hepburn Springs Chalet and were drawn to the old-style restaurant just next door. We went in through the bar, where a bulky bartender and his two bulky mates were hanging out. The bartender asked if we were looking for a table... More

What a shame! They could make so much more of this place. My husband and I visited one very cold night in June thinking we would get a wonderful warm experience. The room was freezing.Only heating was a fire and everyone in the room was still in heavy coats and jumpers! The food was below par with the sauces bland and... More

Me and my girlfriend went for dinner here last night as soon as we walked in it felt like we stepped into an old school Italian house in Italy somewhere that was the only good part of the night!! as a fine dining chef from melbourne I couldn't wait to dig into a beautiful bowl of the seafood pasta. Let's... More

I don't know how this restaurant exists - terrible service, and worse food. Dried out and tasteless, tepid vegetable lasagna. Burnt and stale garlic bread, Soup that tasted like tinned soup. One of our party ordered Rose wine which tasted and looked like watered down port. Rude staff who became aggressive when we complained about waiting over an hour for... More

This could be a really lovely place however the food and service need uber improvement. Meals took over an hour, 3 bulky male staff acted as stand over bullies which was intimidating and the meals were bland, inauthentic and not a reflection of northern Italian dishes.

This family run restaurant has a warm and genuine atmosphere complimented by tasty food. Not a slick establishment (if that's what you're after) but has charm in bucket loads. Everyone was friendly and the grandmother gave a very interesting historical talk. We all enjoyed our evening immensely! And even had a bit of a dance to some old Italian tunes!

Not everyone will appreciate Lucinis. If you want impersonal slick dining go somewhere else. Lucinis is warm, friendly, casual_ if you want to feel part of an Italian family meal with good wholesome food then book in. Atmospheric and enjoyable rather than polished and impersonal.
