Food was top notch, service equally great. The Wagyu was cooked to perfection and the Gurnard fish was freaking delicious! Showcasing the beautiful produce and amazing wine this region has to offer.

I visited the Kitchen Door with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday. We decided to try the tasting menu. The waitress advised that it included about 6 courses and was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My sister was fasting at the time (for easter) and the waitress/chef were kind enough to adjust the menu slightly for... More

ed at the cellar door we had fortunately booked a table at the associated Red Dot restaurant. A welcoming host leads a team of chatty knowledgeable staff who know their menu. Everyone's food was delicious and was beautifully prepared and presented and the view across the vineyards and Vale topped it off. It was a busy day but this didn't... More

We stumbled across this one early in the day, attracted by the stunning buildings. I really enjoyed the wines and the staff were helpful and friendly. Well worth stopping here... the food smelt amazing from the cellar door too.

We lunched at Penny's Hill Winery following the McLaren Vale Vintage and Classic Car Rally. Our seating was outdoors, with excellent food and wine ordered and served from an outdoor kitchen. It was all very friendly: well organised ordering then a short wait for our lunches, while we quaffed our wine and looked over the huge number of vintage cars,... More

Stopped off here in the middle of a wine tasting session around McLaren Vale. Four of us had numerous share plates every one of which was excellent, but the gnocchi was amazing. Obvious to say that the wines complemented the food.

Went back here for my birthday lunch after a disappointing visit last year, but heard they had a new chef (Tom hardy) and had returned to delicious main meals rather than share plates. And they are back in the game!! Husband is not easily pleased but said the starter of slow cooked octopus was the best he'd had in oz.... More

Description
The Kitchen Door is a salute to wine-lovers and great food indulgers: for those who love to pander to their palate. Discover elegant dishes with a rustic, relaxed influence that don’t easily fit into one classification: fresh produce; nostalgic classics; grazing boards.

Select dishes to be shared or individually savoured from our menu, or have Head Chef, Neil ‘Nelly’ McGlew feed you the best of seasonal and local produce, either with or without paired wines, in our "Feed Me" experience, priced at $55 per person.
