Fun,casual, relaxing place. Authentic German cuisine. The Bahama Mama is a tasty delight. As good as they are, however, the Cream Puff's "rang my bell"! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

After researching several restaurants in Columbus for a birthday party for 60 people, we decided on Schmidt's Sausage Haus. Not only was their pricing, the best of all surveyed, but they offered a great menu selection and bar offerings and an excellent and attentive wait staff. The temperature and decor and general upkeep of the private dining room was excellent.... More

We really enjoyed the meal. The food was great and reasonable. Also the desert was great mostly the cream puff. I would definitely recommend this place and I will go back whenever I get back. The service was great and it does get crowded later the evening.

It's been years since I enjoyed a truly authentic German meal from the Milwaukee area and I was excited when I discovered the German Village in Columbus. My search and a few recommendations all let to Schmidt's and there was no disappointment. Despite a short wait (they were packed on Tuesday night), I was seated shortly after arrival and the... An excellent meal, sausages or traditional germen fair are all great choices. A very busy restaurant, they do not take reservations so be prepared to walk around exploring the German Village while waiting for a table. They will text you when your table is ready so you are not stuck sitting around. Great beer selection. Friendly and efficient service.

Felt like we were enjoying food from our last trip to Oktoberfest in Munich! A variety of sausages and wursts. Very tasty sauerkraut and German potato salad. Draught beer selection also reminiscent of Oktoberfest. Service and atmosphere superb.

One of my families favorite restaurants for over 30 years. Most of my family has moved away but this is the one of the restaurants that we visit anytime anyone is in town. The food is so good. Their buffet is great. There's usually a wait but it is well worth it. Can't get enough of the Bahama mama and... More

My wife and I try to eat at Schmidt's whenever we are in Columbus. My personal favorite is the Bahama Mama, cannot get enough! My wife has the beer battered Cod and really enjoys it. But, what we both absolutely love are the Cream Puffs! If you go you have to leave room for one (or two) of these. No... More

Description
This iconic German Village restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate with family and friends. For five generations we have been serving authentic German food. Our sausage has become so famous that the Bahama Mama has been voted the official food of Columbus and the building is registered as a historic landmark. Come take a trip around our Autobahn Buffet or, if you want something other than sausage, try one of our traditional German dinners. Of course, for dessert, you can have one of our half-pound jumbo cream puffs. Stop in today and celebrate with us!
