Must Visit

I stayed at Hotel Lee Garden in Puri. Chung Wah is the restaurant of this hotel. The food quality was awesome and the food was very delicious. If you want authentic Chinese cuisine, Chung Wah restaurant is a must visit in Puri. If you are staying at the hotel, you can get room service at no extra cost.

Chow chow like the olden days!

Read a lot about Chung Wah before arriving in Puri and this was the first restaurant we visited here. And we were not disappointed! The place will immediately take you to the old time ‘Chinese’ of Calcutta - dim lights, predominantly red decor, ornate chairs etc. We ordered the chow chow that used to be so common in our early years. This was good. So were the soups we had. Chilly chicken was a bit wanting though - this was more of onion and less on chilly. Nice staff and a friendly owner with whom I had a good conversation- about food obviously.

Must of you craving Hakka and Cantonese

The minute you enter Chung Wah, you just know the food will be good. The aroma of authentic Chindian Food is in the air. We were on a brief trip to Puri and were asked to check the place by a friend. The ambience is nice and seating is decent though I won’t say it’s very comfortable. Why? I wish I knew or thought about it more but I just felt it wasn’t a comfortable seating arrangement. But I really didn’t care. Started with Hot and Sour soup which was bang on, as were the Drums of Heaven. I just loved the Hakka noodles which I would give a 9 out of 10. Garlic chicken sauce was great but the chicken was super salty but then again most Chinese food is a bit salty. This one was a scale higher so needed to mention it. Overall a great place to come for Chinese food. I am told their fish preparations are even better but that news arrived late. Definitely a great place to satisfy your noodles and fried rice craving .

Disappointing Experience at Chung Wah (Lee Garden) My recent visit to Chung Wah (Lee Garden) was extremely disappointing. We ordered Chicken Drums of Heaven, but the dish was almost 80% cornflour coating, with barely any chicken inside. The quality was unacceptable. I requested a simple lime soda, but the waiter insisted I try an orange-based soda. What I received was Mirinda with two slices of lemon—a complete misrepresentation of what was suggested. When we raised concerns about the food quality, we even showed the excessive coating to the staff. After some time, the owner arrived, but instead of addressing our concerns, he was only focused on the bill amount. He stated that had we informed him after eating two pieces, he might not have charged us. However, even after seeing the leftover food on the plate, he continued to justify the poor quality rather than accepting the feedback. This was not an isolated incident. We have visited the restaurant 2-3 times before and have witnessed the owners misbehaving with customers. On a previous visit, we even saw a heated argument between a female owner and a customer. Their priority seems to be collecting payments rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. Final Verdict: If you’re considering dining here, think twice. The food quality, service, and customer experience are far from satisfactory.

Had great expectations from the online reviews and rankings but sorely disappointed that a Chinese restaurant on the sea coast doesn't offer ANY seafood dishes at all!! No crabs, squids, pomfret, lobsters. Only fish is basa! Indian Chinese restaurants often leave out pork and beef from their menu, so while it's disappointing, it's understandable. Anyway, we still decided to be sporting and tried the special soup and Bali prawns. Soup was average at best. Bali prawns were tasty, but simply crunchy fried prawns- not tossed in anything. However, nice decor and easy access location

We , the five of us , had a sumptuous dinner at Chung Wah on August 20, 2022. From starters to main course - each dish was flavourful and tasty. We ordered both the veg and non-veg dishes and all the preparations not only tickled our tastebuds but also won our hearts. The staff are very helpful and they know their foods. The interior is authentically Chinese with a very calm vibe. It was a hearty dinner . Thank you , Team Chung Wah for keeping your tradition alive for so many years.

Just next level in sooo many ways. The food was bang on , the right balance of Indian-Chinese. The food was ready in 5 mins ,, and such good quality and so much quantity. One couldn't ask for more. The staff were very cordial as well and also well informed to make the right recommendations

Ordered some food but ended with few items and while I ask them they are saying restaurant is closed and they can't server the rest order. Its pathetic, it used to be such a great restaurant but now a days they are treating like kaidies. they even don't care about customer. very pathetic. please ignore this for your food as they are very much money oriented now a day, rather than customer centric.

Best Chinese food in Puri

If had too much of Oodia food in puri and want to give some break to your taste bud then this place is certainly worth visiting. Situated very close to blue flag beach on main road in hotel Lee garden,it is run by a Chinese lady ,though didn’t look so big ffrom outside but it has good seating capacity,also service is fast.Food taste goos and also good in quality,portions serves was value for money as per rates. Overall good experience.

Best Chinese Cuisine in Town

Based on TA review, visited the restaurant for dinner. When we visited at around 8.15 pm, the restaurant was almost full. The restaurant has nice Chinese décor and cool ambience, also has adequate sitting space. All staffs were masked. We ordered Crispy Chicken, Sweet Corn soup, Crispy Chicken, Chowmein, Hot Garlic Chicken and Veg Manchurian. While veg items were priced at around Rs. 250 range, chicken dishes were priced at around Rs. 350 range. The serving time and serving portion, both were reasonable. The dishes were tasty too. Overall it was a satisfying dining. This is the best Chinese restaurant in the town and a visit is recommended.

Great Chinese food

Excellent service and great food with reasonable prices. We ate Veg Chow Mein, Fried rice, sautéed vegetables. All the food was delicious and the portions sizes too were generous. The staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful too. Would surely recommend a visit.

Food and service speed continue to be outstanding in this family-run restaurant. I have been visiting this restaurant whenever I have been in Puri over the last 30+ years and I have never been disappointed. That's really great! Best wishes!

Quality and service has deteriorated over the years. This used to be the go to place for Chinese food in Puri. However did not like the food over the last 2 visits. Extremely oily noodles and fried rice was just average. Starters are not that great as well.

Amazing Restaurant, Fabulous Food! Along with the tasty food, Ms. Kim offered their new Peanut Pepper Sauce. It was out of the world! My mother and Ms. Kim had a nice chat about the recipe and the secret sauce used in the amazing peanut pepper sauce. Highly recommended! Wishing more success for Chung Wah!

A place that never disappoints

Though not authentic when it comes to Chinese cuisine, it is known for its unique taste. Visiting this restaurant has been a ritual whenever I visit Puri. It is always packed but service is super fast. The food has always been good and I have never ever been disappointed.
