Fast friendly service, fresh and delicious seafood of the largest variety we found in Puri (prawn, crab, pomfret, mackerel). Kudos! Indoor dining room fittings/decor could be improved, and tableware could be upgraded

Good food. Food tasted fantastic. The chef and maitre-de took interest in suggesting menu items that could perhaps interest us.
Decor has become a bit confusing…I think it was meant to be an Amazonian jungle decor, but it just comes across as a bit disorganized.

We had a lovely dinner here. The food was fresh & delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They kindly accommodated our western pallets and prepared the food with less spice than usual. The prices are very reasonable !The only reason I gave this review 3 stars (instead of 4) is because the atmosphere is decidedly lacking. The outside seating is uncomfortable and the area is buggy; the inside is a very brightly lit room that reminded me more of a diner than a nice restaurant. But if you can set that aside - it’s worth a visit.

We visited Wildgrass yesterday (14/01/23) for dinner. As other reviewers stated their mackerel was really fresh and meaty. We ordered the seafood platter and got to taste crab, mackerel and prawn. We also got a pomfret. After that we again ordered some prawns. This malai prawn was roasted to perfection. The optimum combo tenderness and crisp blew our minds away. My 4yrs old just gobbled it up. Being on a short of time we couldn’t get a taste of Chena Poda in the city but luckily this restaurant had them in dessert menu. This too was frankly quite good.
The only downside could be the serving time. A table next to us had to wait for bread refills while their curries got cold.
But honestly it didn’t happen to us. We ordered an overwhelming amount of food at one go that included kabab and noodles as well. We are not fan of extreme hot and spicy and requested the host to forward that note to the kitchen. Everything came out delightfully delicious for us. Sorry my family attacked the food before I could take any photos. Well it was that good. Best part? It didn’t make a dent in the pocket.

With much anticipation we went reading good reviews.. only to be terrified… as our family of 6 were having dinner after a long tiring day post temple darshan .. one audacious waiter comes up to our table literally bullies my 5 year old daughter by snatching her phone and saying “ Babuuu … eat fast fast” and then telling me to feed my kid faster as it’s Sunday ! I mean .. HOW DARE HE SNATCH PHONE from my daughter and tell us to finish dinner fast? WTF it’s not a community kitchen table with fast covers … horrible… never coming here again for pathetic average food horrible service!

We searched for a place to eat our dinner. We were a group of eight, and we're searching for a place nearby our place of stay. Just found one on way back from Golden beach ...and what a happy surprise. The restaurant will remind you of a homely food like in Goan Atmosphere. The veg clear soup was offered as a complimentary as ' offer of the day'. Best part was service was excellent. Food was great and pricing was Not exorbitant. It was a great experience overall.

We've just been looking back at the places we were fortunate enough to travel last year. We should have posted this sooner as we really hope as many people as possible can discover this wonderful restaurant.
It was quite simply the best seafood we've ever had, anywhere. No flashy descriptions on the menu - the grilled fish and prawns stood out and the taste did the talking. The restaurant added its own delicate flavours, but nothing to overpower the unbeatable freshness. All with great service from our lovely hosts.

What an amazing find it turned out to be in Puri. We accidentally walked into this restaurant for dinner on our first day of stay at Puri and then ended up having all our meals there for the 2 nights that we stayed at Puri. The fried fish, tandoori prawn, ghee rice mutton, crab everything was top notch and utterly likelable. The price was also very reasonable and the service was very friendly and immaculate. A must visit place for sea food and local food when in Puri.

Authentic odiya food.
The place has list it's shine since I last visited 7 years back in 2016. There is little change in the menu. However, quality of food was very good and tasty.
Several local delicacies are on the offer - ghee rice and mutton, chingri (shrimp) dalma, tawa mackerel, tawa prawn, several types of vegetables.
Suggest a visit if you want to experience oriya food in a relaxed environment. The only con is the place does not serve any alcoholic beverage, even beer.

Least bothered and poor service. No apology at all. They served us ice cold food specially the naans wich difficult to eat once cold. When told less staff excuse was given. Poor service and food, I think the chef didn't get paid for the job ...

It is apparently an upcoming restaurant still evolving at its own pace. If you are looking for a highly professional one, this isn't it. It claims to be cheap, however it's not. Though food is homely, and doesn't feel like you are having meal at a restaurant. So if you are missing ghar la khana place to visit. However, service is an issue as it deems there's dirth of staff and language is definitely a barrier. Serving portions are too less for the prize charged, hence not a value for money for a foodie

Went with my family and all are very happy with taste of food specially Seafood and Ghea Arnna Mutton Was Superbđź‘Ťđź‘Ś Specially Thanks to the New GM Mr. Surendra he is such an nice and helpful Manđź‘Śeven rest all the staffs are very courteous. Restaurant was fully crowded but still they have well managed. Same day evening we took packed food for dinner all Chinese Items are Superb my kids enjoyed a lot and whenever we will go puri. We all will visit this place again. Thanks to entire team and of Mr. Surendra đź‘Ťđź‘Źđź‘ŹI would like to recommend all my friends for Wild Grass to visit once whenever they go to puri.đź‘Ť BEST OF LUCK GUYS

Authentic Odisha cuisine, great food , superb ambiance . New GM and the staffs been really trying their best to meet the high footfall !
Though couple of items in the menu were not available ( continental specially) , but the items that we ordered from Odisha cuisine has been brilliant.
New GM is the surprise package with his hands on approach and he has been smilingly taking our orders though we reached late for our lunch .
Maybe couple of additional staff will be required to cater to additional footfalls but overall we enjoyed the food and the ambiance

This is a wonderful restaurant, the food and service bringing me back twice during a two-day stay in Puri. I had vegetarian options, which were lovely, but I really want to talk about the service. On the day I was leaving the Puri I wanted to finally sample some of the dishes most typical of Odisha cuisine. Alas, I arrived too late in the day for the Odisha thali, but upon learning of my circumstances, the staff arranged to have one made for me nonetheless. Top-notch service and many thanks to the kind staff and cooks!
