We do not eat out very often, and this is one of the very few restaurants we eat at. A family taverna run by the same people for 30 years. We always make an effort to eat there when they open, which was very late this year 10th July. The food was, as usual excellent , with the same kitchen staff working there for years, so the quality remains constant. I had the Stiffado, with fall apart beef chunks cooked in a refined tomato and wine sauce, and my husband had the chicken souvlaki, which he says is always better than anywhere else.
The food, the sea front location, and the waiting staff Nikos and Michele always make a meal out feel special.

The best restaurant in Hersonissos by far!
the food, service, hospitality, unfaultable.
the food was all fresh and cooked to the highest standard by Poppy,
served by the very welcoming professional waitng staff Nico and Michelle.
I stayed in Hersonissos for over a month and ate at the restaurant on more than 15 occasions and did not receive a meal or dining experience I would not rate 10 out of 10

While walking through Hersonissos, we wanted to have lunch with a view of the sea. We were very comfortable when passing by Argo with their nicely presented tables and chairs and the staff didn't accost us to come in. We gave Argo a chance and we were so happy with their friendly staff and food choices, we came back again in the week. The owner was very welcoming and open, telling us about the history of the restaurant and how he orders the condiments from a local business he's known on a personal basis for years.
Very pleased with their meals and ice cream. Would seriously recommend.

I was hungry and I asked if it would me a big plate, yes the waiter with 35 years experience said. I asked him if it was a bigger plate then the one next door, yes he said no question about it. it was not I told them nicely and they argued with me, the waiter and manager were disrespectful screaming, not letting me say my thing, just 100% absurd even thought the food was good. I was hungry and if I knew that it would me a medium plate I would have gotten something else that was the point.
CUSTOMER IS NO KING HERE !
Never experienced this in my life around the world.
He told me to pay and get out and I couldn’t say a word anymore even thought he was talking not nicely to me all the time.

Fantastic authentic restaurant with delicious food at absolutely reasonable prices.
The location is unbeatable.
But the most descriptive are the two waiters who work at the restaurant - Michelle and Nicos.
They managed every single time we came to eat, to give us a professional but very personal experience ❤️ we tried other restaurants, but returned and greatly appreciated their exceptional service 9 out of 14 days. Thank you 🙏

Very rude member of staff told us to “hurry up” and was very impatient and passive aggressive while we were ordering. Definitely not made for customer service as never before have I walked out of a restaurant due to rude behaviour. Will not be returning.

The man who served us was exceptionally attentive and kind. He told us the back story for the wine we were drinking, gave food recommendations when asked and checked on us throughout the meal. The food was very good. We had tzatziki and pita and calamari followed by moussaka and giouvetsi and everything was really good. We sat by the sea and had a carafe of house wine which made the evening even better. Would thoroughly recommend!!

Stopped here for snacks 3 times while using their beach sun beds. Had gyros and frappes which were perfect despite being busy and change if content requests, all came back exactly as ordered. Waiter was very friendly and funny with his English comments.

Great place! We came there at the first day and after that we didn't want to go to other places. Every day we had lunch at Argo family taverna. Delicious greek starters as cheese saganaki, meatballs, dolmadakia. We advice to try grilled local fish (250-380g) - τσιπούρα (tsipoúra). Try also giros in pita (pork giros 5.10 eur) Portions are big. There is also available menu for children, desserts, crepes.

The only place we ate at more than once infact we ate there 3 times I'm 10 days.
The food and staff here amazing as well as eating here we hired their sunbeds a couple of days Michelle is a great waitress and great at drinking my husband unwanted shots of raki lol the co-owner is great too sorry never got to know his name but he has a brilliant yorkshire accent impression. My fave dish was the moussaka my son and husband had pita gyros like a club sandwich if in crete will definitely be going back

3 years ago we were made aware of this gem of a restaurant. We have visited the city and several restaurants in the last 10 years, but this exquisite gem has gone our nose past
It doesn't look like much, but you shouldn't be fooled by it.
The food is traditional and tastes heavenly, they even grow all the vegetables and we have never been disappointed!

Best restaurant in Hersonissos! Lovely staff, especially Niko who always welcomes with a smile. He cares very much about his guests, often asks if everything is good. Although he has a lot to do, he always has time for a little chat. The service is super fast and the food is perfect wonderful. especially the Mussakan, but whatever you eat, everything is very good and well prepared. On top of that, you have a lovely view of the sea and shade over your head.

This place doesn’t try to be trendy like a lot of the restaurants on the seafront of Hersonissos it chooses to stay looking like traditional taverna. The staff are super friendly and have a perfect knowledge of the menu and have great suggestions! The main chef Poppy is the best! You cannot beat this place for quality and value for money. If you see Nikos say “Yassou Pal” :)

Wow.
We stayed in Crete for 10 nights and probably visited here at least 5 times.
The food is spot on. The view is absolutely mesmerising. All the staff are fab, especially the owner who makes an effort to talk to you and even does a Raki shot with the table at the end which is totally free!
Will never forget this place and hope to be back one day.
If you’re staying in Crete I would definitely recommend trying this place.

Omg, popped in here as it was 5.50 euro for a gyros chicken. Just slightly peckish.
This was the best food I had eaten in 5 days of being in Greece. The food has been amazing all round but this topped it.
But wow it was unbelievable, right by the sea, music and beer.
